Up the mountain
Oct 2017 • Friends
Get out of the car and head up the mountainside( hillside in actual fact) for some more than passable views of the city, pollution permitting. Not sure it'd be a pleasant activity in the heat of the summer but in Autumn(October) we managed in the relative cool of 30 degrees Celsius! Couldn't imagiine it in 40 degrees and 100% humidity.

Pricey
Sep 2015 • Friends
Place is good to visit the flowers and plants from most part of the world.
But its too much pricey , and most part are not maintained well.
There is a trick , if you pay 50 RMB , its only one side of the garden you can visit , if you want to visit the inside portion you have to pay again 50 RMB , so better pay 80 MRB at once to visit both sections.

really nice view and wide variety of flowers.

visited during spring and the crowd was crazy. it'd better if the pollution coming from the cars visiting the garden wasn't that bad, but then again it was during weekend.

No, no and no!
Apr 2016 • Couples
Another example of Chinese putting entry gate just to gather money for a normal part that in any other country is for free. First it's complicated to get here as its on a mountain and takes time to get, then you pay money to either just enter (just a part with trees) or more money to enter and be able to enter to building with botanical exhibition. Exhibition is interesting but overall doesn't worth it. Once you enter it smells awful, we guessed they used poop for planting hundreds of new plants and put them outside u see the sun, maybe you'll before lucky and they won't have them anymore there

Fresh air and clean parks
Mar 2016 • Solo
I am not a big fan of botanic gardens but if you are looking for a fresh air and clean parks, Nanshan Botanical Garden is one of the best in the city. It was quite crowed on my weekday visit, however, the area is big. You would need a separate ticket for an exhibition hall but there are some interesting plans inside, cactus collection was great!

Beautiful spot, away from the city, awful staff
Apr 2014 • Couples
Before I tell you how good this place is I will warn you about the rude and unhelpful staff at the gate. They advertise cheaper tickets of you pay using your travel card but if you try to do this the staff are less than helpful and bordering on rude. So without any discount it costs 30 to get in, or 50 if you want to view the greenhouse. The garden is large, well maintained and beautiful. Set on a mountainside the paths can be a bit of a challenge, I wouldn't want to push a wheelchair about or even a pushchair! The green house is well worth the extra 20, lovely cactus house and water features. In spring the fruit blossom is lovely but this time we were about a month too late. The rose garden was just starting to look good though. If you want to get here take bus number 384 from Nanping, it takes about an hour but for only 2rmb you can't really complain!

Peaceful Garden
Sep 2013 • Solo
It is not a spectacular garden. But it is a peaceful place to spend the morning away from the traffic jams in Chongqing.

Flying Gourds
Aug 2013 • Business
This is a most delightful spot. Well work a visit. It is a mix of indoor and outdoor. You'll have to pay more to do both. The outdoor includes an amazing display of gourds, all suspended from trellises above you. Indoors, there is a variety of plants from around the world, including a most impressive display of cacti.
