A great museum to visit if you have any interest in the history of China and communism. Some brilliant pictures and well preserved examples of what was happening at the time. The cars are a definite highlight and the view. Not worth visiting the museum opposite though.

For history and military buffs alike, visiting here should be a requirement. I was surprised that the building wasn't bulldozed to develop yet more high rises, and that the government has declared it a site of national importance even though it commemorates the one-time closeness of both Mao and Chiang and the US military. The furnishings on the main floor... More

Who would have thought a place like this existed in China? It seems like it would be hard to find but since I was on a tour I didn't have an issue. The museum is small and tasteful, mostly with pictures with english descriptions. It's interesting for anyone who likes history. All of the old furniture remains in the house.... More

It was a very endearing place to walk through to see just how the American Volunteer Group fought off and kept the Japanese at bay from bombing, destroying, and killing a wonderful city and it's people. We owe (Chinese/Americans) all of those brave pilots a debt of gratitude.

We spent an hour walking through the museum which had many interesting photographs about the American involvement in China's war against the Japanese. The signs are in English.

This was one of the surprise stops on our tour. The museum is full of interesting things specially if you are military families. The pictures that you can take of the city are wonderful..........since this museum sits up on a hill you have to walk up a steep hill.......buses can not go up there. Take good walking shoes.

This is a short metro ride from Chongqing and worth the effort - the view of the river from the grounds is lovely, and the house itself is very interesting and has beautiful decor.

This is the house and office used by General Stilwell during WWII while he was in China consulting with the Chinese during the war. It is interesting to walk though and see some of the memorabilia from the war. The Chinese do not call it WWII but refer to it as the "anti-Japanese conflict".

I took the train there, getting off at Liziba Station which was a mistake. The website I checked earlier. it is better to get off one station after this, Futoguan Station on Line 2. There, the museum is only a 5 mins walk down the hill. Logistics aside, this residence is an iconic symbol of the close relationship China and... More
