My wife and I paid 500 HKD (£50) each for a green day ticket. There are three 'hop on / hop off' bus routes around HK taking in numerous attractions and the ticket price also includes; 1/.A ride on a traditional Sampan boat. 2/.Daily crossings on the Star Ferry between Hong Kong Central and Kowloon. 3/.The Star Ferry Harbour Tour... Booked the 48 hr tour and did all three routes, plus the Peak and Sampan ride. Really good value and always a good way to see a city/area when on a short break. Getting out to Stanley was good although the weather was a bit wet, didn't dampen spirits. Lorna who sold us the tickets was so helpful, a real... More

We enjoy this type of tour as once you have done the circuit you can return to the places that interest you most. We had torrential downpour while sitting on the open upper deck. The bus had already provided ponchos so we were dry. The commentary actually aligned with the locations we were passing. Highly recommend even if you have... More

Great way to see the city, buses run about every 30 minutes so you don't get "stuck" at any one place for too long. Get the tickets with the harbor ferry, so you can do both sides. It was a bit of an effort to find where we start from; we did go to the harbor at their main lot;... More

Don't bother. I bought a two day pass with night tour ( didn't even use the night tour as there was no info about what time and where it departed from) and wished I hadn't. I have been on hop on hop off buses all over the world and never had to queue for 40 minutes to get on the... More

What a great way to get an overall experience of the city. Please plan some time and you can get a great view of all parts of Hong Kong and you can jump off and on the bus with an audio tour to educate you. Well worth the money!

If your time in Hong Kong is limited, the 48-hour pass on the Big Bus hop-on/hop-off tour is a good option for exploring the area. We found the prices quite reasonable, and the bus routes covered all of the areas we were interested in seeing. We added a few things to our tour, some of which were worth it (i.e.... More

If you are planning to do all 3 routes in 1 day, leave yourself plenty of time if you are going to do the "extra" excursions like the Peak Tram & boat ride. These are definitely worth doing & because they are included with the Big Bus ticket, you are able to jump the line which is very beneficial especially... More

Even though this hop on hop off bus is 3 times the prices than those at other major cities, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately it was a bust. I am pretty lenient on my ratings but this was a 1/5. The one bubble (only good thing about this bus) is for the layout of the two lines... More

Lorna sold us our tickets and explained and suggested how we should use our 2 day pass. It was perfect. Great advice from Lorna. Both days worked perfectly could not recommend this way to see all of Hong Kong more highly. Money well spent.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
