Great pictures of Tung Chung before the "building invasion", a school in the middle of the fort, abandoned almost instantly... A small museum. Just a good visit for 30 minutes after or before having lunch in the nearby restaurant. Do n't expect too much but a must see in TC

A visit to Tung Chung is really a great experience. The cable car views are beautiful and the atmosphere over there is amazing. I recommend.

Tung Chung, the only town in an island outside HK that can be reached by Mtr:). it is a nice place for a getaway at lantau (eg to ngong ping, tai o, discovery bay), and easily reached in just under 30 minutes for central / HK mtr. Will highly recommend taking the ngong ping 360 cable car, as can see... More

This place is where you end with the subway If you want to visit the gigant Buddha. Most people pass Tung Chung quickly to get from the train station to the cable cars and only see the hyper new shops and banks and high rise buildings. Not very nice. But looking beyond that there are some nice places that i... More

Don't waste your time, nothing interesting to see there. Just an old fort abandonned with a lot of dump and a basket court. This site isn't well preserved at all and is located behind some weird buildings that makes it unable to see the fort from the street.

Tung Chung to Tai O (a fish village): - Nice pleasant walk of around 15 km (counting from the MTR station) along the coast. - Several ups and downs, highest point at less than 80m. - Excellent site for plane spotting: both landing and take off. - Clean and equipped toilets along the route. - Food stalls available too. -...
