When living in HK I visited Aberdeen and a sampan tour, this was 1994/97. This trip was not as interesting but for any tourist visiting HK it is worth taking the PLB out to Aberdeen and taking a one hour tour, forget the 30 mins.

The economic contrasts in this area are stark. There are enormous yachts parked next to essentially shacks. We took a ride around in a sampan which was noisy and smelly. There is a large floating restaurant in the middle of all of this.
