This is a fun area all around. As a solo tourist I was able to meet expats, exchange students and locals with ease. During the day it is a fun hip environment to get lunch or a beer. At night the action really begins. Do not hesitate to grab a beer at 7-11 (club 7) and walk around with your... More

Great place to just kick it. Early there is great specials and is calm - later a crazy party. Note Directions: Hong Kong station to central station. If you have an octopus card you are golden, use it to transfer. If not you need to buy a ticket, I just bought for the next station. Once in central station find... More

I have visited this place at the evening but I didn't find anything special at this area except lots of bars.

Its a really lively and safe environment. The new Hard Rock Café is much better than the old one. Insomnia is the best bar around with great tribute acts, but don't bother going in until after midnight as that's when it comes alive.

Truly a hopping area! The streets are blocked off for pedestrians and you can go from bar to different bar. Friday and Saturday nights are wonderfully full of people from all over the world and happy hour is from 5 to 9 pm. Definitely a must experience in Hong Kong

Busy area, uneven terrain, lots of walking along side walks. Interesting sights of old buildings.steep roads, so walking shoes are important . Some bars and restaurants along the way.

Staying in Central

Neighbourhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
