When you walk into The Mixing Bowl, you forget that you are in the busy city of Hong Kong. However, the location is very convenient and close to the MTR (about 2 mins). Everything is clean and tidy and the space has been very well designed. The equipment is top notch with Miele Ovens and Kitchen Aids etc. though we... More

What a beautiful venue and space. I had an amazing evening baking a chocolate drip cake whilst meeting some great people. Victor is an incredible teacher and I highly recommend doing one of the classes - I will definitely be going back for more!

I would highly recommend a class at "Mixing Bowl" Kyle walked us through the session step by step, with a lot of great tips and insight.Making it a fun experience even for a first time baker.Considering making pizza and lava cake could be an overwhelming process to follow.Kyle made the process fun and interesting!

If you are looking for a place to bake and have fun doing it,this is the one that I most recommend. The staff walked us through a step by step process, making it easy to catch on. We made cinnamon buns and a rye loaf bread, and hade tea while the loaves and buns baked. It was a very pleasant experience, and we... More

What a fun afternoon spent at Mixing Bowl in a class with Kyle making cinnamon buns and seeded loaf. Kyle is a fantastic teacher and excellent at giving step by step instructions. Both recipes were great and my kids scoffed down the cinnamon buns afterwards. The new shop has a very nice patio. I can imagine it will be perfect... More

I just moved to Hong Kong and my best friend bought me a cooking class experience with my beau for my birthday. It was so much fun, Kyle was very informative not only on processes but also offered a more thorough understanding of the "whys" involved with cooking. The location was modern, wide open, and beautifully decorated. It was a... More

Although HK is a food paradise, it just doesnt offer calories packed & scrumptious sugary treats such as Cinnabon, Krispy Kreme, etc.. Well last weekend I began hunting for Cinnabon / cinnamon roll in HK and had found that this little cafe that serves them. It is situated near Po Hing Fong in Central, which requires roughly 10 min walk... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
