Thanks to the other reviews that I read, we didn't make a special trip but happened to be walking past so went in. Would be good if you are wanting to buy material, esp silks, but otherwise there is no reason to go here as a tourist.

Due to typhoon Sarika, I was desperately looking for something inside to look at. Unfortunately this location is only worth 30 minutes of your time. The first floor has stalls selling silk and suit material. The second floor is a restaurant. The ground floor has a model bus/tram shop - I did buy a model tram.

Spotted this interesting building whilst on the tram and decided to see what it had to offer. There's Honeymoon Dessert on the ground floor, coupled with a few souvenir shops. Up the escalator to the 2nd floor are textile shops selling all manner of cloths. The 3rd floor is a restaurant. It's a pity such a lovely building does not... More

If you are looking to buy fabric the second floor of the building has a big selection. Other than that though not really much else of note. The building is nice but expected more than was there. Not worth making a detour for.

Went to check out this place despite the average reviews. It was deserted except for few tourist like me. The second floor cloth market saw only few vendors open for business. Noticed that the toilets ( gents located on 2fl, and was accessible ) but the ladies ( located on 3fl) was not accessible as entry to the 3rd floor... More

I was a bit disappointed by this place. The building is interesting from a historical perspective but most of the shops sell the usual tourist stuff. However in the unlikely event you want to buy material for a dress or curtains (not sure why any tourist would) there is a very large selection on the top floor. Also there is... More

Historical building which has been renovated and now is home to some restaurants and a whole host of souvenir shops selling interesting handy crafts. The restaurant on the top floor is delicious as well as honeymoon desserts on the ground floor. There is a souvenir shop that specialises in bus memorabilia if you are into buses. Otherwise don't expect anything... More

This place is where the locals take the guests for the local fare, so do not disappointed as this is strictly a Business Place wher you talk and do Business

This red brick building of 1906 is not a market anymore – except for the souk-style silk vendors on the first floor. The top floor is a Chinese restaurant, the Stage, popular for wedding banquets. On the elevated walkway to Shun Tak Center (Macau Ferry Terminal), you’ll find a small but interesting installation of maps and photographs explaining the history... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
