The park was built on a district with crime & violence, barely controlled by the government for over a century. Beyond this urban re-engineering feat, it is worth going there to enjoy a walk in a park of "decent" size, without hords of people!

Once a walled city of 30,000 people crammed into a square mile, this is a fascinating piece of Hong Kong history. Book a tour with Hello Hong Kong for a detailed account.

Very interesting and quiet place to escape the busy streets that is HK Its a 10 minute walk from the mtr station and there is a mall very close to it which offers pretty much everything for moderate prices.

I am a bit bias here, because the Kowloon Walled City was my home for over a decade before it was demolished in the early 90s. I often take my children back here and tell them the history. The 3D sculpture at the entrance is...More

It takes around 15 minutes walk to get here from Lok Fu MTR but on an overcast day that was still 30 degrees Celsius it felt longer than this! The grounds are nice and kept in a good condition but the exhibition of the old...More

An interesting place to learn about the history of Hong Kong. The park itself is not huge, but with its winding lanes, one has the illusion that it is larger. Previously this area was once military housing and later slum-housing, factories and the centre of...More

An oasis from the crowds. A true insight of Chinese culture. Visited 3 times on a 4 day stop over and saw something different every time. Martial arts being practised along side Tai Chi, a group of people singing and people meditating.

This is a place that we didn't expect to see in Hong Kong as it was like a hidden germ of its own. Parks and the various building and historical information were really an interesting thing to see and experience in this part of the...More

The landscape of the park is very beautiful. In terms of history, nothing much is left here since most of the things that used to be here were gone to be replaced by the park itself.

To see this beautiful park now and read about the history of its former status is a remarkable story. Bearing in mind it was a relatively short time ago that the "city" was demolished the transformation to its current state shows a marvellous vision and...More

There are two sections there - the Walled City section and a small park. I don't recall seeing anyone riding bicycles there. Perhaps for the small park, children can ride their bicycles.
