We did a day trip with Java Rhino Tours on 13 May 2017. We were picked up at our hotel in Jakarta and driven 3 hours to Carita. From there we boarded a speed boat to the Krakatau caldera. Pak Abud who we communicated with via e-mail helped organising everything. Lunch was provided (standard Indonesian fare) and water, and cold... More

We did a two day trip to Krakatoa and Anak Krakatoa in March and it has been absolutely beautiful. You go by boat from Carita and have to cross the open sea (which can get quite rough sometimes) for about 1.5 hours - it makes sense to have a trustworthy guide who uses a proper boat. After some snorkelling around... More

Although I did not set foot on Krakatoa, we spent a day cruising around the islands, just outside the safety exclusion zone. The highlight of course is the Son of Krakatoa, the small but fast growing live volcanic island at the centre of this island group. There is a constant plume of smoke from the summit, with occasional volcanic outbursts... More

Words cannot describe my feelings after seeing Krakatau Volcano by myself and trekking it's baby Volcano, Anak Gunung Krakatau. So the Volcano was surrounded by beautiful islands like Umang-Umang, etc (I forgot the names) and Phuket-like Lagoon Cabe with beautiful coral reefs and clear greenish water. The nature and scenery was amazing, which unfortunately cannot be captured by my lousy... More

Last long weekend me and seven friends visited the Krakatoa Volcano for three days and two nights. Organized by a local operator in Carita beach. Truely spectacular and generally a fantastic experience/holiday. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to go snorkeling with tropical fish and wants to see a volcano up front! Excellent!

Went for a day trip which started with a pick up from the hotel at 530am. An hour and a half later we reached Pantai Carita for a simple breakfast before heading off on a boat to Krakatau. The boat ride took another hour plus and if you tend to get sea sick, worth taking some medication to prevent this... More

It would have been nicer with good acomodation and air conditioner. I hope government will invest some money on the islands around Krakatau

Actually it's not really Krakatoa Volcano but it's The Child of Krakatoa Volcano. This mount is really clean. It's such a great trip to refresh your soul. It takes only 20minutes for me to reach the top of this mount. I can see clearly the ocean surround me was calm and it makes my soul feel so calm too.

Now this place is very calm... In the middle of the day black sand on Anak volcano is terrible hot - don't forget about closed shoes, no sandals!!! The view from the top is amazing - all around are seen the remnants of Krakatoa-father. The beach here is totally perfect: really clear and warm water, very fine black sand, only... More

I love coming here, this is probably my sixth or seventh time here. The journey to get to anak krakatau isn't the easiest and the walk up the volcano can be tough but the views are incredible the snorkeling is beautiful. Experienced guides are always a great idea but easy enough just to walk up by yourself.
