There are some somewhat interesting museums and architectural sites around the old town. However, the smell alone was enough to deter me from staying too long. It was definitely coming from the canals.

One of the places in Jakarta where the Dutch legacies are still preserved. A good place to take photos or just to relax and hang around. It’s a quiet place, hidden from the busy life of Jakarta. The museums are closed on Mondays.

Walk around to see old jakarta, Dutch influence, with Javanese tradition. Lots of good pictures, old jakarta square good visit with 3 museums. Good restaurants nearby. Cafe batavia, good coffee.
