The speed is a chapter by itself, which I do not have to mention. Seats and especially the space between the rows is fantastic. I don't think anyone can't fit their knees - not like in aeroplanes. It travels fast and very smooth with the landscapes passing by.

What more can you say - super fast, super comfortable, good amenities on board, super punctual, and super polite staff. In Japan - the best way to travel especially between Tokyo and Osaka. Only drawback is the price - a trifle expensive.

Was just on the train from Tokyo to Kyoto, I highly recommend it, especially the "Green" car... no smoking.

The shinkansen experience we had from Kyoto to Tokyo was tremendous!! It started from purchasing the tickets, where there was a separate line for foreigners, and a translator came to help us arrange for the tickets and seats. The train is very spacious, and everyone was curtious towards us even with our large suitcases. A bit on the pricey side... More

I purchased a 1 week rail pass and it allowed me to travel from Tokyo to Osaka, Kyoto and back. It's the best and fast way to travel in Japan and to see the country side. The train goes extremely fast and you can't even feel the speed. It was a fun and amazing experience and can't wait to experience... More
