All I can say is skip the shrine. When your tour guide asked if you want to go to the shrine or snorkel, go snorkeling. It doesn't look like much, but my wife and I were amazed and excited how much we felt like we were swimming in an aquarium. Truly amazing!!

This is a great place to snorkel. There are just so many different types of fish. They have big spools of fish. I had a great time. You must come snorkeling.

From the boat we swam to the little cave. That has an image of Mary. Then pass by a shrine and went up to an abandoned house of the owner. then we climb up to a craggy mountain which is just spectacular when we reached the peak. Never ever forget your cam.

Matinloc Island is part of Tour C in El Nido. We were lucky when we arrived at the island as there was only one small group in there, but unfortunately they have occupied the best spot for picnic lunch.
