Its a huge shrine, expect a lot of walking, bring some water specially now at summertime. There is a dress code just like any other Catholic church. No shorts & sleeveles/low neckline for women. Men can wear long shorts though. Very nice place for worship,...More

To get to Simala, one has to drive through very tight roads and once near the shrine, brave the crowds of pilgrims who visit the shrine. When I visited, it was extremely hot and there were thousands of people visiting the shrine. Yet, I felt...More

We came as this is one of Tripadvisors top referals for the area and were amazed by the long waiting lines to kiss the mother Mary. Filipinos in the religion are a wonderful thing to feel and understand, as you may not see many countries...More

I never thought I can see a church this beautiful in the Philippines. The design is really wow. Problem though is that this is really far away from the city and is difficult to go to.

My mom is 70y/o and managed to climb up to the shrine and back without a problem. Of course we took our time though. We didn't rush her..Took a few pics. The ramp is nice and easy for seniors in my own honest opinion.
