    Pleasant beach to chill
The beach is clean and peaceful with lifeguards looking over so you feel safe. It is a very nice and relaxing place to hang out and gather with friends and family. There are sufficient toilets and bathing facilities and you go there to swim, sun bath, picnic or play volley ball. The sand is soft and nice but it would be good to bring along a picnic mat. There are some restaurants along the beach for you to dine or pubs for drinks. The sunset here is something you wouldn’t want to miss so plan your day accordingly.

Nice fine sand beach with restaurants and cafes nearby
This is the first beach we came across after getting off the cable car at the Siloso Station. Even though our hotel concierge told us the beach is "man made", it did not diminish how beautiful it is. Very clean and not really crowded at all. Could be because we visited on a weekday. We found the big Siloso sign to take photographs. Enjoyed some coconut ice cream and made a nice walk out of it.

I thought I should know Sentosa better than any tourist on this little island since I am a Singaporean. But I was wrong. This beach seems unfamiliarly new to me. I could not remember coming to his part of Sentosa. Last week I was at Palawan Beach, and my past memories of that beach was super clear and vivid, but I really could not recall coming to this beach.

I took the monorail from Resort World to Beach Station and Siloso Beach was just a 5-min walk from the Beach station. But Siloso Beach seems to be longer in distance than Palawan Beach as it stretches right to the far north end of the island. From Siloso Beach, I ventured to Fort Siloso via the Siloso Skywalk.

The panoramic view from the Skywalk was stunning. The beach looked so pristine and marvelous shimmering in the turquoise seawater. On the other side of the Skywalk the view of the harbor front was equally impressive and magnificent. The Reflections at Keppel Bay stands out gracefully like a beautiful dancer boasting her spectacular and unique architectural designs to the surrounding building. I stood at the Skywalk stunned by the mesmerizing views and forgot that I was in a historic museum of harsh reality and wars.

At the Surrender Chamber, I saw a quote from the then British Commander in Chief, Air Chief Marshall Robert Brooke-Popham `Malaya is .... the easiest country in the world to defend'. The then Prime Minister of Great Britain, Sir Winston Churchill also boasted that Singapore is the most impregnable fortress in Southeast Asia. To all the confidence and assurance, Singapore unexpectantly crumbled and was defeated and the British surrendered after only one week of fighting with the Japanese Imperial Army.

The current hellish battles in the Middle East and Ukraine are testament to the atrocities and miseries that could fall on the people of a nation.

Sun Tze in his Art of War articulates: The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemies without fighting. I hope we do not need to fight a war for the next 100 years. But Singaporeans are prepared should we need to go to the frontline.

A thought-provoking walk at Siloso.

I used to come here a lot when I used to live in Singapore from 2000-2009 and I came back now to relax. It is still a nice place but I must admit that they have better beaches other places in Asia.

Was told could not swim due to lightning detected an hour ago a long way away. I checked the weather radar, there was no thunderstorms within 50km, and no visible storm clouds by sight. Overly conservative, and unwilling to use commonsense. When I left 2hrs later the beach was still closed with still no weather around.

This is one of the prominent beach at sentosa island. Since I was a kid, I have been visiting. Of course over the years, upgrades have been made and these days, it’s even more beautiful and modern. Many facilities and restaurants have been opened here and this offers patrons more food options. I especially like having a good afternoon lunch here, watching time passed and enjoy the beach view. Always give me that resort and holiday feel.
