- alpatduncNorthern Beaches, Australia107 contributionsNice for a visitWe went to Sentosa for a day and passed by the beaches and cafes. It is very nice and calm and there are no waves. They have a zip cord and bunji jump facility which is $150SG per person in this area. They have a free shuttle bus to take you from one end to the other as it gets quite hot walking.Visited January 2020Written 22 January 2020
- HeatSeekerWrexham, United Kingdom4,263 contributionsLots of changes, all for the worseYou can have a great day relaxing at the beach. We still enjoy going there, and the sea is lovely and reasonably calm. Do avoid low spring tide, when the water is muddy. However we have seen several changes since our visit in March 2019, and none have made the beach better. Want something to eat? Apart from FOC at the end furthest from Beach Station, there are no other options. Want a convenience store? The one at Palawan has closed, so has the one at Beach station. The nearest are Siloso Point, and Imbiah (under the Sentosa Express station). Not very convenient. We bought snacks from Show Bites, but rather a limited range. Want a locker? New ones have been installed all over Sentosa. They are difficult to use. First you must have a Singapore, Malaysian or Indonesian phone No! Next you have to enter a password and verify it, at that point my wife couldn’t get it to work, and gave up. I think they then must send something to your phone, but they won’t tell you how it works until you laboriously reach each stage. They’re the most complicated lockers we’ve ever seen. There’s a large building site at the Beach Station end of the beach. All work has been stopped (possibly a result of the covid virus). At least it’s quiet, and not much of an eyesore, but it does nothing for the beach. Finally there’s Hydro dash, will it ever open? At least the peace has brought out more animals, we’ve seen an otter, and a monitor lizard, plus hornbills and cockatoos. Sadly the peacocks have all vanished. It’s great for families, with a lifeguard watching over everyone. Toilets and showers are very clean, and free. The disabled will enjoy the step free access to the beach, and the calm water at the sheltered ends. Despite all the problems, we do like the beach. It’s very quiet (no noisy bar music). The sand is clean and soft. Look over the hoardings and there’s lovely landscaping. And the water is lovely and warm, so you can have a relaxing time at the beach. It’s back to how it was in the early 1990s, without all the modern facilities like shops and restaurants!Visited February 2020Written 21 February 2020
- Adreen KSingapore, Singapore25 contributionsSocially distanced beach going is the new norm, I guessvisited the beach on a weekday morning to find fences, scanning point and rope squares for each group of no more than 5 (some weren’t...). beach was clean, water a decent opaque green (normal for Singapore), and the lifeguards were keeping an eye on things as we heard them yelling at people to not climb on the rocks 100m away. Nice view of the offshore ships in Singapore anchorage (>30 in sight), but no oil and debris, and by coincidence a lot of Air Force planes and helicopters flying up and down too.Visited December 2020Travelled with familyWritten 20 December 2020

Ok. South East Asian dream beach this ain’t. It’s Singapore’s man made answer and it’s not bad at all. Nice sand. Crisp clean water. Amazing to be able to cool off from a hot and humid Singapore. Plenty of space. But git a little crowded. Atmosphere somewhat spoiled by family singing karaoke via speaker system (singing is too strong a word, more like out of tune warbling) for hours on end. Non stop. The stamina! There’s Wi-Fi on the path meandering alongside the beach (not on the beach). Food options limited. Healthy food options non existent. Getting to beach was easy enough on public transport. Leaving when it closes at 5/6 necessitates a long long queue for the free shuttle bus (probably about 20 mins delay).

Great view but it's quite tiring if you will just walk from Siloso, you should ride the service going here. The hanging bridge is a perfect place to take photos and don't miss to check out the top deck view once you crossed the bridge.

Absolutely would not recommend. If you go keep in mind it is not white sand and turquoise water like in the photos, and there will be a scatter of big cargo ships about 700m away. As worrying tourists we didn’t know if the water was safe, most of the other reviews have said the water was clean which persuaded us to go. Upon arriving, it looked ok from afar but as we got closer, the water smelt of petrol (probably from the huge ships) and was littered with rubbish. We immediately had to exit the water (despite about 100 people still happily swimming) when multiple human feces floated past us. Another family also noticed and got out but many people seemed to continue swimming around the feces.

Hard to say much about this because the day we visited the bridge across to the southern most point of Asia was closed for maintenance. More of a tick off the bucket list kind of place.

its a relaxing place to just lay on the beach and get a little swim but its not fun to look at all the ships that are around Singapore. I would recommend this to people that are in Singapore and wants to go to a beach but there is better places around Asia.

I wanted to visit here because it is the southern most point of continental Asia, i’m happy I came. The beach has a very unreal feeling and apparently it is because it is fake for most parts meaning it is man made, still highly recommend.

Yes it’s fake and small but Sentosa beaches have come from nothing to being well developed. Easy access, clean and lots to do

My family and I visit this beach almost every Sunday. We absolutely love it here. Swim, chill for bit, stare into the horizon. Rinse and repeat. It's not Boracay level sand nor does it have corals / rocks / wildlife worth of snorkeling in but it's good for a simple relaxing swim on your day-off.

How do you get to the beach from the port pleaAe
Jason S
Melbourne, Australia1,640 contributions
You can walk if you want they have a boardwalk that connects from mainland.
Only takes 5 - 10 minutes to cross, then you may have another 20 minutes to walk to beach.
They do have some bus services to get you to beach once you cross onto Sentosa island but I did walk as I enjoy walking they have signs directing you to the beach. I don’t know the frequency of the shuttle services?
Or you can take a taxi and they can drive you directly to the beach there is a toll added to your cab fare for crossing the bridge ($6)
I would take a taxi from docks may only cost $10-15 dollars.

Yes I'd recommend a swim suit. It's not the cleanest beach, but there were some people swimming there.

Is there anywhere that you can hire beach towels? I’d rather not have to cart one all the way from Australia!

No that I am aware of. But Singapore is a safe place so one does not need to worry about this issue. However, it would be better if one leaves valuables in the hotel.
is there any entrance fee before swimming in palawan beach?
