Great shop full of everything from kitsch to genuine antiques. Goh and his family are friendly and informative, relaxed and helpful. I enjoyed looking at hundreds of gorgeous things and will go back again to see more. Loved it, a wonderful shop one of the best in Singapore for antiques.

I frequently visit this place in search of delightful porcelain ware and painting scrolls. Going through the shop and talking with the old Uncle and young man, I learnt a lot about the porcelain and paintings and the times when they were produced. They reflect the artistic histories (creation and sales) against developments in China and Singapore.

Great gifts for friends too. Check them out when you are in town.

I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of Chan Ngee, Mr Goh Yong Chiang, and his son, Seng Ngee, at their shop recently. Besides the shop being a repository of artefacts dating back to the Qing Dynasty, as well as more affordable vintage items, it was amazing to hear fascinating stories about the Singapore of yore from its owners. The elder Goh, who is so warm and friendly, is a treasure trove of lively anecdotes of the past. He even performed the traditional Gongfu tea ceremony for me (with amazing deftness for an 80-year-old!) as we chatted. So grateful to be privy to one of Singapore's authentic historical narratives. His son, Seng Ngee, gives lots of context to the various pieces in the shops. The shop specialises in Yingxi teapots which are made of a super absorbant clay that retains the flavour of tea. They are also holding an exhibition on local and Chinese artisans their upper floor, which I suggest you go check out.

We called in to look for chinese snuff bottles. Avout an hour later we left with about 6 items, including snuff bottles and having had a very informative and enjoyable visit. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful and we were delighted with our purchases.
Close to Chinatown (Opposite the Hindu temple) and well worth a visit!

Bought the beautiful couplets 5 years ago. This year went back for more ‘goodies’.
Bought a fantastic pair of blue imperial guardian lions and wonderful paper weights. Can not stop finding the best genuine things here.

Forget the 3-for-10 but go here!
Mr Ngee Goh will tell you about the back ground of the item.

A joy to be back here and be like Drew Pritchard.
