Great experience for Families! Would highly recommend.
Great experience at the Mint Museum of Toys. We have been here before the revamping of the museum. Took 2 years for the museum to be revamped and its a great experience now. Blown away by the breadth and depth of the collection. Using the Augmented Reality app, it’s the first time I spent so long in a museum. Even my daughter was entertained by the AR experience and all the interactive exhibits in the museum. Time just flew by when we were here! There is a current rotating collaboration exhibit with a Singaporean watch brand and as a watch collector I found this very interesting. Would highly recommend this museum to ALL families! 😁

    What a hidden gem!!!!
I love nostalgia and I love toys. This place is well done. I have been to a few toy museums, and this is easily the best laid-out and organized toy museum I personally have seen. They have some amazing exhibits organized by subjects. A few of my favorites: Astroboy, Ultraman, a really old Batman collection, a newer Darth Maul, barbies, Daleks, and even Sesame Street. What I appreciated is been able to see some toys that would not be necessarily exhibited elsewhere, like Nazi toys. To my understanding, this is only a very small percentage of the total amount of toys that are available to be exhibited. They have an actual museum curator who actually preserves and categorizes the pieces. For anyone that appreciates toys from their childhood, this place is a must-visit. If there is a day when we are back in Singapore, I will be visiting this museum again.

    Back to ones childhood
Some reviews say don't take the kids and they are right unless you are a big kid. There were 5 levels of displays of toys from my childhood. I'm 63. These toys were from my childhood and great to see again. I may have broken mine. Brought back many memories and the background information was very informative if I wanted to learn something new. Well worth a visit and entrance is reasonable. The museum is close to Raffles and Singapore Art & National Museums and Chijmes a great place to eat afterwards.
Hi MarcGH222, Thank you for your kind review and we are so glad that you manage to visit the revamped museum after our 2 year long physical and digital transformation! Thank you for appreciating the quality and depth of research and content we have put into the curation of the displays, we ensure that every toy has important information about them displayed such as its Maker, Year of Make, Country of Origin and even material! Because we think each toy has its own special value in terms of historical or cultural significance and visitors like yourself can always read up more about them! Our toys are specifically between 1840s to 1980s and I am sure it rekindles memories differently for each and everyone. Thank you and hope to see you again soon!

Singapore offers more than just the Gardens by the Bay, Merlion, Sentosa and China Town. It also has some highly original museums! The "Mint Toy Museum" being one of the best!

While looking unassuming from the outside, the collection is excellent and it is obvious that the museum is built with love. This place isn't just about making money, it is caring for vintage toys and sharing that enthusiasm with the guests. Another great point: the collection is a nice blend between Asian and Western toys, so everyone will recognize something from their past. Also, there is enough variety in time frames, from 1900 to well into the 2000s. Some toys used to be popular, now rare. Others have always been rare as many could not afford them as a child.

The museum consists of 5 narrow floors, which with its own theme. The stairwells have their own sub-themes (for stuff that wouldn't fill an entire floor). I highly recommend to install the museum app and use the provided free wifi. By scanning QR-codes toys will come to live (augmented reality) and tell their story.

Exhibition displays are dated with some multimedia stations out of order . Entrance fee way too expensive . Lack of guided tours for general public . A Friend of mine lamented on the lack of weekend museum activities . No learning portals online for more info .

Although one floor is closed for a new display I still found this a worthwhile stop. To see so many toys in one place is just amazing.
A bar on the top floor is great for a cold drink.

I wouldn't recommend anyone go here but especially with kids don't go. The place has old toys in old and tired displays the kids got excited when they thought they were going to a toy museum but didn't realize that they couldn't touch or play with them. It was just awful.

An extremely expensive museum (21.40 SGD) for an entry with one floor missing for renovation (the staff informed me after the payment).
You will see tons of toys next to each others. Most of them you can still find online. I myself have several of them from usual stores. Some do have an interesting mechanism, but you cannot see them in action (not even in video).

It is just a bunch of metallic toys, and that's it (no stories, no explanation, nothing)

So I do not recommend this museum.

We visited Mint Museum of Toys, and we were delighted like a bunch of kids, getting a new toy. We saw toys way older than me, with some more than 100 years old. It brought back childhood memories, which we fondly remember.

We first discovered MINT (A Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys) Toy Museum a decade ago. Ever since then Subbi has wanted to return as she was completely taken with the impressive collection of toys across the ages.

MINT is great for the young and the young at heart - though for those with children, note that these are no longer toys to play with, instead they're a representation of each of our childhoods! The collection definitely brings back childhood memories - we were three this time, aged 39, 50 and 62 and each had our moments of delight recalling toys we had played with or coveted in our youth.

The mind certainly boggles at the value of the collection, with rare, unique and old collector’s items valued in the thousands of dollars from all over the world. We've heard that the toys on display are only part of the owner's full collection - it would be amazing to see what else is lovingly tucked away, memories of times past.

The breadth of genres covered is impressive, from robots to plush teddy bears, from music memorabilia (think the Beatles) to TV and movie memories (from Bond to Batman to Star Wars, not to forget Flash Gordon and Felix the Cat), from Australia to America taking in Asia and Europe along the way. Toys that are no longer considered politically correct (Golliwogs), to favourites across the ages (Alice in Wonderland, Mickey Mouse, the Seven Dwarfs). Bulk produced and hand sewn toys all get a look in at this collection.

Toys were supplemented with memorabilia including movie posters and props, news clippings and trinkets from Queen Elizabeth's coronation, racing and race car toys and memorabilia. It was touching to see some of the owner's son's toys included in the collection.

A great way to spend an hour or so, recalling your youth, and learning about that of your parents and even your grandparents!!!

As a tip, tickets are available at a slight discount via Klook, with mobile vouchers accepted at the Toy Museum. Also, if you're peckish, you can check out Mr Punch for food and drinks!
