About
Established in 2012, Hat of Cain is a homegrown Singapore brand specialising in Panama hats. Our hats are ethically sourced and hand-woven in Ecuador. Located in the charming neighbourhood of Joo Chiat, we carry over 40 hat styles, a selection of linen shirts and offer hat repair and restoration services. A curated store not to be missed for a personal hat fitting session.

I was told by a friend to go check out Hat of Cain when I was in Singapore because it “was a cool shop and a great experience.” Well that it was. My wife got a great and stylish hat and was treated like royalty by shop owner Bill Cain. Check out the linen shirts when you are there and choose from one of the many cool hats. A must for your Singapore experience. Great place!

Climate change should be a boon for purveyors of hats, and for protection against the sun, there is nothing better than a Panama. Lightweight, space over the scalp, brim to protect the face - and so dapper too! Sun hats come in all sorts of models, but once you've worn a Panama, you'll never want anything else. But where to buy in Singapore? Just go to Joo Chiat: Hat of Cain. Tucked away in a small side street, the ground floor shop stocks a wide range of genuine Panama's, in male, female, and unisex styles. The premises are attractively decorated, and make one want to linger. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. They will custom fit the hatband of your choice upon request. The prices are reasonable too. Remember: a good Panama is a long-term investment. Do your head a favour, and visit Hat of Cain.

A really pleasant shopping experience. The welcome and hospitality as soon as you walk through the door was such a refreshing experience. Bill knows his subject with a passion and the advice given is precise and without pressure to buy. The hat I purchased is supremely comfortable and looks great. Will be back.

The owner knows his hats. I have been wanting to go back, sadly haven't found the time. Its a great place to hang out and chat with the owner and receive a level of service uncommonly found here. The location of the shop is a bit tricky, but once found, no regrets!

A quint shop located in the heart of Joo Chiat. Very friendly owner and staff. It's my first Panama hat and they were very helpful to make sure I get the look, size and fit. Definitely will go back again for next hat adventure.

I am so pleased with my Panama hat, I have admired this beautiful shop for a while and have seen there stand at Boutiques a few times. It was a delight to visit the shop in person. I highly recommend the hats.

WIfe and I were looking to get panama hats to go with our outfits for a wedding in Bali. We visited Hat of Cain while they were having a sale (lucky us) and Bill and his lovely helper were really helpful in giving us advice and patiently educating us about the qualities of each hat. I ended up with a hat, and came back the following weekend to buy another one for a colleague. Each time I wear the hat out, I get compliments on how well it fits me. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking to get their first Panama Hat.

Very good welcome, professional advice, good choice over a large range of styles / qualities / prices, having in mind they only sell quality products (geniune Panama hats from Equador) and not made in China copies... Overall, prices are very reasonable for such quality. Very pleasant purchase experience for me : you leave very happy to have acquired such a nice artisanal product, having met people passionate with their products. I warmly recommend !
