The walks work on a simple principle: to bring people into places most other tours don't. Graveyards, smoke houses, wet markets, gun batteries, the city’s best-kept secret places. You name it, we have it. Since 2003, the Walks led by an eclectic bunch of researcher-guides have taken locals and travellers alike off the beaten track, and entertained with an endless store of anecdotes that reveal the true heart of the city. Pre-booking not necessary!

We did this tour of Fort Canning on 23 Feb as a dept staff outing. Sharul was our guide and he was fantastic - approachable, helpful and funny! Our staff have feedback after the tour that they enjoyed the walk and found the "history lesson" very informative and eye-opening. The exhibits in the Battlebox Museum were also very well-made and... Was recently in Singapore and took both the Chinatown and Little India walks. They were both great historical views of the different cultures that make up Singapore. A highlight was the Hindu temple, which was just completely unusual. Both tour guides were very knowledgable. My Chinatown guide actually grew up in historical Chinatown during the times she was discussing. That... More

The "Guns, graves and battles" tour of Fort Canning was amazing! The guide (Sharul) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour sites were very well done and interesting. This is the only way to see the WWII command bunker which is definitely worthwhile.

Went on a tour of Fort Canning and Battle Box on Feb 7 conducted by a friendly and knowledge guide Joanne. The tour overall was enjoyable and we had a great time throughout.  Will definitely recommend all visitors to Singapore to try out this tour which you can sign up for at the Battle Box visitor centre, as it should... Of Graves, Guns and Battles tour was absolutely fantastic, our guide and friend Sharul was brilliant in his knowledge, friendliness and overall presentation of all he took us through. From the history of Fort Canning park, which included the spice garden and a chance to smell and taste the spices at a restaurant in the park, to the history of... More

My daughter and I are frequent travellers to Singapore, and no trip would be complete without at least one Original Singapore Walk. This January, we took the Kampong Glam tour, hosted by Carol Joy, and the WWII Changi Tour, hosted by Helena. Both guides made their subjects come alive with a wealth of knowledge and historical information. The Walks were... More

Did three walks (Changi WWII; Of Graves, Guns & Battle; and Haw Par Villa) on a three-day pass, which was absolutely worthwhile. A shout out to my guides Carol, Shahrul and Geraldine, for the wealth of information and for telling the stories behind the attractions so engagingly and with so much energy. Due to my personal interests, I enjoyed the... More

The four tours were: Little India Walking Tour, Changi WWII War Trail and Museum Tour, Battlebox and Fort Canning Hill Tour, and Chinatown Morning Walking Tour. All were worth it without exception. All the tour guides (Joanne, Sharul, Carol, and Helena) were quite knowledgeable about Singapore's history and multi-cultural background. The Little India Tour (conducted by the very passionate Joanne... More

We did the Changi WW11 tour which was extremely fascinating. The museum is well laid out and our guide was able to highlight and talk about the main items of interest including experience from her family. There is little else to see outside of the museum as most of the sights have been destroyed for various reasons. But to visit... More

Used this company twice on way out to Australia and on our return stop over as they were so good. First time we took the Little India walk which was a full morning, visiting temples, vendors and food market. Its a great way to explore the streets and see the hidden gems at the same time to learn about the... More
