The walks work on a simple principle: to bring people into places most other tours don't. Graveyards, smoke houses, wet markets, gun batteries, the city’s best-kept secret places. You name it, we have it. Since 2003, the Walks led by an eclectic bunch of researcher-guides have taken locals and travellers alike off the beaten track, and entertained with an endless store of anecdotes that reveal the true heart of the city. Pre-booking not necessary!

All of the walking tours offered by the Original Singapore Walks looked very interesting, however I was particularly interested in this one as my Pop had served and was a POW after the Fall of Singapore. Booking directly through the company was very easy and Jessica provided great advice about which tour would be most relevant for my interest. We... More

This tour covers the history of Singapore including the 14th century kings, colonial times, and WWII. The whole walk took place on Fort Canning Hill so there was little walking effort required. The guide for my tour was an enthusiastic storyteller (Wui Wui) and I really enjoyed the tour. The walk ends with a visit inside The Battlebox so don’t... More

I had 5 days in Singapore and went especially to do the Changi WWII walk. This I enjoyed but because of the land reclamation it was a bit different to what I expected. The guide Helena was great. The museum was moving. Also did 'Sultans of Spice' - an interesting look at the Malay culture of old with Jooling. Then... More

Excellent guide, Helena, very knowledgeable and passionate for her subject. Informative and clear in her relating the stories of suffering and endurance. All very efficient - and contrary to expectation far less walking than anticipated! Thank you!

We went on the Changi Tour with our walking host - Helena. She was fabulous. Her knowledge, passion, pride and delivery made for a wonderful tour. Helena spoke from the heart and included her family history into the talk. It was fascinating and informative because you knew that Helena was talking from personal experience and information handed down from her... More

I took this tour after reading James Clavell's King Rat, a novel about the time he spent in Changi prison. I was hoping for a much more in depth tour of Changi, but this is not what I got. Instead we went to the Changi Museum, which is a very sombering portrayal of life in the prison -- not bad,... More

I did a Changi WW11 War Trail tour with this company and booked thru Viator. Our guide Helena met us as arranged on time. We were taken by air conditioned coach to many sights around Changi where we stopped, went for short walks and were given informative information. Tour finished with a visit to War museum. Our guide was happy... More

My wife and I did the Secrets of the Red Lantern tour with Nancy as the tour guide. An easy walk around Chinatown with fascinating history that most people don't expect from Singapore. Nancy is perfect as the host, and does a great job in telling the stories. Also we got assesses to the Heritage Museum in Chinatown and a... More

If you are thinking of taking three or more of their tours, the best way is to purchase a three day pass. We went on their Chinatown tour (Red Clogs Down the Five Foot Way) with Helena, who gave us a wonderful interesting tour. The ¨Through Fog and Fire¨ tour gave us an interesting and thoughtful perspective of Singapore´s fall... More
