About
Bugis Junction has a mixture of shopping options to enthral even the most seasoned of shoppers. Part traditional mall, part open-air shopping district, Bugis Junction is one of the few malls in Singapore that has sidewalk cafes and shophouses sitting alongside gleaming new retail palaces.

It was a holiday here in Singapore on Thursday. I decided to go Bugis Junction for dinner. There were a COVID-19 cluster there but there had been not new case for a while.
I wanted to go to a vegetarian place I hadn't try before, Green Dot.
My wife and I went in and there were only two other couple eating and a family of four split into two tables were just leaving.
We looked at the menu a bit and decided to have what they called norish bowl.
It's a bit like yong tau fau where you and pick your items and they charge by weight and there were really vegeterian yong tau foo stuff there.
Next to the fridge was a smaller freezer where you can buy frozen vegetarian including siew mai and dumplings and bring home to cook.
I paid about $23 for the meal for two.
Our jelly drinks came first.
Then my bowl of noodle with laksa gravy.
Later, my wife's bowl of noodle also with laksa gravy. The food quantity was quite a bit. My wife also wasn't that hungry but she finished hers too. Green Dot has many outlets in Singapore and I think I shall go to eat there again.

One of the malls off the beaten path. Had to go there for M1 store. They also have a cineplex, and (small) kinokuniya bookstore. No luxury stores, just for the suburbs

The age of retail is over! This is a stunning example of retail disaster.

We may well be in the age of Covid, but so many entrances closed, difficult to navigate within the mall and hard to find your way out when you eventually give up. I was looking for Challenger but gave up and will order by internet / email. What a messy disgusting system of management that is certainly not user friendly.

Stay away.

I was there many times and every time I go to Singapore I sure go to Bugis Junction. It is a place for souvenirs and other bargain stuff. It is just small mall but very crowded with many teenagers. Different stalls offered different variety of goods. Some of the prices can be bargained however it depended from stalls to stalls. This place is easy for public access that's why it is so popular for local and tourists.

Located walking distances across several local attractions including the national library, Bugis Junction is a huge mall (especially when you combine with Bugis+) that has several food options. Definitely a great mall with several restaurants and cafes to choose from to enjoy the indoor air conditioning if it is too hot outdoors.

We stayed at a local hotel and I thought a visit to the Cold Room store to buy a few groceries would be cheaper than eating out. I was shocked at how expensive groceries are in comparison to Perth Australia. No wonder why so many locals eat out as it is so much cheaper. An example is a tub of yogurt in Aus is about AUD $4.00 -$4.50. There it was SGD$8.
Prices of other items such as clothes definitely not cheaper. It seems to me that locals like to purchase branded items such as Polo, Nike, etc. No Target type stores.
The mall was clean, not crowded and staff were friendly and helpful

Bugis Junction was around a six-minute walk from our hotel – Carlton Hotel. It is connected to the Bugis MRT station and across the road from Bugis Junction, is Bugis+ and the very crowded Bugis Street Market.I suggest visiting Bugis Junction on one day and then on another day, visit Bugis+ and the Bugis Street Market.

Bugis Junction is fairly modern with shops spread over three levels and we found it a little difficult to navigate, perhaps because of the large crowd. It certainly seemed to be much better frequented by the locals. Many seemed to be purchasing from shops rather than just walking around the shopping centre.

There was also an outdoor market style section which was undercover, as you might find in Osaka, Japan. There were shops selling clothing, shoes, handbags, watches, skincare, souvenirs, various food vendors and mobile phone accessories. There was also a department store. The upper level consisted of video game and pool halls, as well as a gym and cinema. Prices in the stores seemed to be mostly similar to what you’ll find in any other mall, around Singapore. We didn’t visit the toilet facilities, so cannot comment on these.
