Brilliant experience and well worth the effort.

Firstly you have to find the place. It is located at 19 Bukit Pasoh, Second Floor, 089833. ( Second floor, go through the white door beside Simplicity by Tin Box ). And it is up the stairs and a plain white door. I can understand how one reviewer couldn’t find it.

Secondly you have to be trusting enough so that Tim or one of the other great staff will prepare you a drink that meet your expectations. Let the experts do their work - you won’t be disappointed. (And there is a fixed price of S$25 per drink
So you will be ok on that front.

Lastly, on arrival, food was being prepared for the team …. Happily shared with the guests.

Knowledgeable, authentic, friendly. You will not be disappointed.

If you’ve been to Spiffy Dapper at Telok Ayer, you’ll find this tiny hidden bar at the upper storey of a shophouse at Haji Lane, very familiar. It looks and feels like a tinier version of the sister bar, with 4 precious tables. So call to book your seats. The concept is Thompson-Twins similar – dark wood, dim dark den, traditional Chinese medical hall-esque mad shelves stuffed with oriental curios, antiques and relics. What sets this tiny bar aside, are the jars of ingredients soaked in Gin. This is a collaboration with Tanglin gin to experiment flavoured gins. This is a gin lab. That’s right – you’re the gin lab rat. The large bell jars look part mysterious and part menacing. I squirmed at the ones with meat – duck, etc. I couldn’t bear to look. In true bespoke fashion, you pick your gin flavour and Johnny skillfully whips up your tailored tipper. We picked pandan and kumquat gin. The concoctions are wonderful and the ambience, really neat. Pity I took crap photos that aren’t IG-worthy. Johnny is good fun too. If secret bars are your thing, you should sip your oriental elixir here.

Saw this place online, the website suggested booking a table, which I did, was sent a confirmation. We turned and they were shut! Went off for a drink and came back 2mins later, still shut! Can only assume the review was written by the owners, total con, stay away! Plenty of other bars in the street that ARE open.

"Give me a three course liquid dinner" I said to Johnny (possibly the best mixologist in this galaxy), and Johnny delivers! Kangaroo beef jerky. Bah chor mee. Lotus biscuit dessert. Three perfect courses. On point. Always happy buzzed. If 42 is the answer to life, universe and everything, Oriental Elixir is the place you need to visit! I hate to tell the world about this place but trust me, you have to come here!

Really cool hidden speakeasy in the heart of haji lane! 2nd floor of Bergs Burgers. It felt like we had entered a time portal to yesteryear in Asia. From Goat Cheese to Cinnamon to Octopus infused gins, this place had magic and more. Perfect place to have a conversation and get beautifully presented tipples to wind the evening away.

Amazing hidden spot which is cozy and perfect for a night out with a small group of friends. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. They made a drink to suit our palate. A large variety of drinks are available which are not available in any other bars. Would go again 100%.
