About
With new dustbins, renovated drain covers and freshly painted walls, the back lanes of Muscat Street have been rejuvenated for the first outdoor gallery in Singapore, Gelam Gallery! Using the walls at the back of the shophouses as canvases, the nondescript back lanes of Muscat Street that were once used only for delivery and refuse disposal have been given a transformational makeover.

This is the first outdoor art gallery opened in July 2019. It is situated along 2 backlanes on either side the pedestrianised Bussorah Street.
It uses the walls at the back of the shophouses as canvases. Even the new dustbins and renovated drain covers are painted in bright colours.
The murals and framed works are done by artists from different backgrounds such as newly graduated students from NAFA and LASALLE College of the Arts, experienced local and foreign artists.
One of the commissioned artists is local graffiti pioneer Slacsatu who paintedsome lovely “batik ” murals and artist Bianca Goetz.
A unique experience walking along the backlanes previously used only for delivery and refuse disposal.
