Local spot to explore
Apr 2021 • Solo
The area is known for Malay culture and food. I like visiting this area. They have old small shops selling products that cannot be found in malls in the city center. I like buying some products from Indonesia. It is pretty interesting to explore the area ans grab some nice Malay food.

Bazaar

I went to check out the Hari Raya Bazaar but to be honest there's not much there that you can't find elsewhere. Food isn't cheap as well.

Wonderful atmosphere in Ramadhan!
Jun 2019 • Family
One of the highlight of my trip to Singapore during the month of ramadhan is visiting Geylang Serai Raya Bazaar. Not just at Geylang Serai, the Tanjong Katong Complex, Jo Chiat area is filled with Bazaar selling a variety of items for the celebration of Eidul Fitri. Its so awesome. Be ready for the crowd because it is insane full of people! Best time to go to the bazaar around 4 pm, 3 hour before break of dawn (sungkai). Note to remember, if you go out on sungkai around this area, its better to book a table 1 hour before sungkai (the earlier the better).

Bazaar Ramadan
May 2019 • Family
My family drove through geylang on the eve of Ramadan and the lights were amazing. It looks like driving through a tunnel of lights. The stalls have also increased and many new fusion food were available. What is most convenient is there's an area where you can sit down to eat and best of all, it's aircon. The comfort in this weather is most welcome.

The Ramadhan Bazaar
May 2019 • Family
The time of the year where there will be a bazaar during the fasting month. Stalls selling food especially, clothes and whatnots.
This year is a lil different cos they are trying to improve the quality of the bazaar itself esp the food for ppl hav been complaining abt the bazaar being a hipster rather than the traditional one since the old geylang market been rebuild.
I can say, they did improve esp from the lighting decorations that made it alive this yr. more room for improvement. They even had ample seatings too.
Well should u be in singapore 3 May - 5 June, come by Geylang and u could explore the whole lot of food variations all till the other stuffs cos they have 700 stalls this yr. ill include the Ramadhan bazaar in the other areas as well in the pics shud u be in the other parts of SG.
Here’s some of the pics frm the hipster stalls that i tried just to see how fair they tasted. Well im glad i chose well 😂
Enjoy ur trip!

Price are so affordable and range from variety of halal food eg Otak2 (grilled fish paste) Sup kambing, Nasi n bubur Ayam, Satay and a lot more.

You just need to go experience it

Worth a visit but hard to rate very good
Nov 2017 • Friends
Not sure what we expected but there wasn't much, did enjoy the walk around but didn't feel the real vibe we felt in similar districts areas in other cities.

As per several reviews lots of good cheap options to eat.

First thing we ran into you weren't allowed to drink alcohol at tables on the pavement you could eat there but had to be in the establishment off the pavement to get a drink, killed the people watching vibe a bit. We were not there late at night may have picked up later but certainly reasonably quite early evening.

Worth a visit

Visit this road for inexpensive world food
Oct 2017 • Solo
If you find the city centre a little too modern and expensive, as I did you must take a little trip to the Geylang district you can eat for as little as a few pounds. And the variety is fabulous. Restaurants serving Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, Thai, seafood, grills and European plus many others.
