Holland Village Singapore is a hamlet tucked away behind the Singapore...

Holland Village Singapore is a hamlet tucked away behind the Singapore Botanic Gardens and is less that 10 minutes away from Orchard Road. This little spot has been referred to as Singapore's "Bohemian" enclave because of its variety of art and craft shops, art galleries, art framing specialists, street cobblers, gift shops, novelty shops, gourmet takeaway outlets, wine cellars, organic food outlets, custom-made shoes shop, imported kitchenware store, body waxing specialists, international school uniform tailors, master tailors, theme party clothing store, tarot card readers, ethnic home decor articles, fine dining restaurants and many other interesting shops. These outlets serve the residents of the surrounding middle class estates. You can witness expatriate housewives spending their day here having breakfast, running errands, meeting up friends for lunch and enjoying a nail spa before shopping for groceries and heading home.Retail establishments are located along four streets and two shopping buildings. These streets are: (i) Jalan Merah Saga (ii) Holland Avenue (iii) Lorong Liput and (iv) Lorong Mambong. The shopping buildings are: (i) Holland Road Shopping Centre, which is along Holland Avenue, and (ii) Holland V Shopping Mall, along Lorong Liput. These two buildings are often casually referred to by sales assistants as Holland Village Shopping Centre, which is a non-existent building. All these streets are within walking distances and it is a good place to spend the day strolling, relaxing in a spa, shopping, having the meal of your choice and seeing the world go by at one of its famous pubs.

Lively area

Holland Village is a very lively area with lots of places and restaurants to eat. It is a nice area to hang out too, as there are many cafes and drinking holes.

Back in the 1990s this place was happening but the ironic is that even since the MRT is completed the place seems to have lost its mojo. Only thing that remains as before is empty carpark lot is still be hard to find. Personally find the place lack a sense of identity.

Love this place for decades since I grew up there. Love The Coffee Bean & Tea Restaurant where they serves their whole day menu. Especially the Tiramisu Cake and Soft Half Boiled Eggs with Bacon. Lots of eateries and Pubs. I always visit The Starker for beer with my buddies. The Hawker Center serve great food too.

Holland Village is a neighbourhood mall. Although for most part, it has the typical services and sundry shops, but it also have hipster hangout spots that has been mushrooming here of late. For example, PARK which is at the front of the mall.

Had heard about this place and ended up visiting it three time in a week.A very relaxed place with no cars allowed in the stretch.A lot of restaurants and generally a great place for people to meet up.Lot of live music and great crowds.

Lots of eating options, but overpriced. Singapore isnt cheap, but Holland Village takes it to a higher level. Would recommend going to Chijmes instead.

This is a shopping and dining area to see how locals and expats mingle. There are food courts, many dining places from fine dining to market, a local "wet market" as well as supermarket.

With so many bars and restaurants in a small/compact area, Holland Village offers a great Al fresco atmosphere and choice. Highly recommended.
