Located at one end of Orchard Road shopping belt. The Centrepoint mall has be around like forever. In the early days it was the place to be for shopping and ‘to be seen’ hangout. With the development of newer and larger malls, it’s easy to assume that the mall’s glory days are over. But somehow it has managed to find a niche and remain relevant.
The mall is still a great place to hangout if one is on a budget and continues attracting the youthful crowd. There are plenty of clothing and accessories shops. Its basement is a food paradise offering cuisine from around Asia and beyond all at very reasonable prices. There is even a basement underpass that offers easy connectivity to Orchard Central Mall and the Somerset MRT.
During Christmas this was the place to be with its over the top decoration second to none, but in recent years they seem to have toned down and although their decorations are still attractive, they are no longer spectacular.
Clearly there is still plenty that this mall has to offer despite facing tough competition.

A conveniently located mall in the heart of Orchard road. Love the food selection we can get from the mall, especially the steamboat restaurant. Also a great place to park the kids in the indoor playground while we shop.

The Centrepoint shopping mall is located at the shopping Mecca of Orchard Road just above Somerset train station & connected with Orchardcentral. It is recently renovated to the extent that you can smell the paint when moving around in few corners. Entrance to comfort rooms on few floors makes you wonder if you are in a five-star hotel. The mall has unique combination mix of modern as well as traditional setting.
There are just below 200 outlets but unlike many other malls it is not heavily dotted with overpowering brand competition. One side is completely dominated by anchor tenant Metro across all levels. Specialty shops like Robert Piano, home grown jewelers are noticeable.
My visit was aimed at 3rd level best camera shop ‘Click’ by Max photo. A pretty decent camera shop located near the down going escalator. Upper floors (level 4 & 5) are more into big ticket household items & wellness shops. There is good spread of eating joints at various levels including American, Chinese & Indonesian names. Basement has cold storage supermarket. By the way, there is no movie theatre at this Fraserpoint property.
Nearby is conservation area, Peranakan Place, Japanese dominated Cuppage Plaza & Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre hotel. Worth a visit for a different kind of experience.

We made the mistake of wandering into Centrepoint. The mall, long past its heyday and awaiting yet another revamp was bleak and shuttered mostly except for a handful of shops that were mostly empty.

I do like this shopping centre. It is not as new as some others and not as fancy but it has plenty of good stores starting with Robinsons department store, M&S, Gap and others. Cold Storage supermarket is downstairs.

The Centrepoint mall is located in Orchard road juste in front of ION Orchard. Easy access by MRT (Station Sommerset, red line). It is opened daily from 10am to 10pm.
What I found interesting in this shopping centre is the variety of type of stores or activities. Of course there is plenty of choices for food and drinks (more than 30 dining concepts spanning 6 levels plus a Cold storage supermarket in the basement). But there is also plenty of entertainment activities such as playgrounds Little Planet Playland and Pirate Land. There is also a music school. In addition, The Centrepoint also offers a complete range of wellness services through like health screening, specialist dentistry, physiotherapy and aesthetics consultations. Also a pet lovers centre for our friends.
At the end plenty of various type of stores which give this area some charm.

Big, sterile and lots of shops. If you like shopping its worth a visit but I found it boring after a little while. Plenty of food options and reasonable priced.

You won't find huge brand names at this mall, but it does have 5 floors of off brands and specialty shops. There is a Starbucks, a bookstore, several jewelry/clothing stores, a piano store and more recently, lots and lots of places to eat. Apparently this place gets packed during weekend meal times, but it's usually very quiet. Very relaxing (and air conditioned!)

Last day in Singapore & I finally find gold, albeit for lunch.
Take your pick, from Texas fried chicken (American chain, think kentucky) to pork buns, Japanese delights, a burger joint to my personal pick, the large circular type place down the bottom that had ridiculous laksa for $5!, rib noodle soup for $6, Fish ball soups etc, boiling hot, fresh, cheap, id eat here twice a day, yes, I had all 3 for $16!, couldn't help it
