About
City Square Mall, located at the junction of Serangoon and Kitchener Roads, sits on the site of Singapore's historic New World Park. Having close proximity to Little India, one of the Top 5 must-see tourist spots, with direct connection to Farrer Park MRT station, it hopes to attract both local and tourist shoppers. With over 700,000 sq ft of gross retail space, spread over five retail levels, two basements and four levels of lifestyle services, it is home to about 200 tenants that caters to the lifestyle needs of today's discerning mid-income families. Offering a wide array of value-for-money merchandise and services, exciting promotional activities, street fare as well as international cuisine, City Square Mall is envisioned as a miniature 'town-centre' which provides the perfect setting for the community to meet, play and shop while acquiring an eco-learning experience.

This was close to our Metro stop, so we walked through a couple of times. I appears to be rather ordinary mall.
But we did stop at its grocery store a couple of times and found its prices relatively lower than most Singapore shops.

Great mall. It’s got everything - don don ki, decathlon, awesome food selection, OCBC, supermarket, fast food places, DTF, apple
Etc. it’s also an eco mall. Parking is not great on weekends. And the sad part is, there is no loyalty points for regular shoppers here unlike Lendlease or Capitamalls. The management should do up an app or vouchers for regular shoppers here to retain clientele.

City Square is a lifestyle mall in Little India that caters primarily to families with children. It also has attractions for young adults such as a cineplex and a Decathlon store, and many cafes to chill and catch up with friends. What strikes me most is the bewildering variety of F&B establishments in the mall with something to suit every palate and pocket. From a big food court on the top floor, fast food restaurants frequented by students like McDonalds, Burger King, Saizeriya and Wing Stop to cafes like Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Toast Box, to family restaurants like Watami and Wok Master, one is spoilt for choice deciding where to dine.
Besides F&B outlets and anchor tenants like the cineplex, supermarket, Decathlon and Toys R Us, there are pharmacies, a bank, nail bars and a motley mix of other small shops. There is an activity area for children to frolic around while their parents run their errands, along with tuition centres. The mall operator seeks to cast a wide net for visitors but does not stand out among the myriad shopping malls all over Singapore. Worth a visit only if you are in the vicinity. Overall rating 3.5/5 but since Trip Advisor does not have midpoint ratings, I decided to overrate rather than underrate the mall by giving it 4/5.

Average mall with reasonable air conditioning. A little short on toilets and more fences than the Grand National!!!
Everything is fenced off - looks like it’s been laid out together by an obsessive compulsive individual more than a Covid aware individual. Even the Christmas tree and decorations outside all fenced and the seating adjacent to the children’s play area.
I wanted to visit Decathlon and that was fruitful.
Better off going to a more central mall.

We visited City Square Mall a few times during our stay. It was only a few minutes walk from our nice hotel and had everything we needed. We visited a market for wonderful fruits, a pharmacy for flu-cold meds, and ate at a variety of eateries that are spread out over several levels beginning in the basement. Was surprised to see KFC, Subway and McDonald's. I would definitely pick a hotel near City Square Mall if I visit Singapore again. It's even part of their underground subway system which would be convenient if staying farther away.

The mall is currently undergoing major renovations. Not a pleasant shopping experience at present. With so many malls to choose from, I’d give this one a miss for now.

One of the finest shopping experience in little India area. Quite big and offers all sort of comfort and luxury together for the customers. Its sure that once you enter into it, you wont be able to come out in next 4-6 hrs...

No there aren't, but you can head to Plaza Singapura (just 2 stops away if you take the purple line). There is a shop which sells loads of k pop stuff at Toy Outpost (the highest level of the mall)

Is there some kind of store where we can purchase electronic items here?
Written 15 June 2018
There are few shops selling electrical appliances. But if you are looking for mobile phones etc, walk from Little India MRT station to Farrer Park MRT station. There are plenty of those shops in that area.
