    Iconic Singapore Experience
Gardens by the Bay is lovely and obviously an iconic thing to do in Singapore. Make sure you stick around for the lights show at the end (ours was musical theatre themed which we didn't expect but was nice). We liked the Cloud Forest- we didn't feel like we had to do all of the activities and we didn't feel like we missed out on anything.

A wonderful assault on the senses!
Great variety of plants and stunning backdrops and fetures. Very entertaining displays and light shows. A must if you are visiting Singapore. A little expensive and disapponited that some of the attractions we had paid for were closed for maintenance.

Outdoor Music & Into the Jungle in the Future City!
Even though I was on a business trip, I stopped by Singapore Garden by the Bay so it felt like a vacation! The modern Supertree structure is like a futuristic city in a movie, and the outdoor concert hall was completely healing as you could enjoy live music with a gentle breeze. Of course, plants cannot be left out when it comes to botanical gardens! Although the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest are indoor greenhouses, they are full of mystery as if you are taking a walk in an outdoor jungle, and there is an interactive play area that children will enjoy, so it would be perfect for a family trip. In particular, I was able to take a walk by a quiet pond, take some time to forget about the city, and come back after resting.

    Exciting flower shows
Following the advice of other reviewers, we focused on the Cloud Forest and throughly enjoyed seeing the spectacular waterfall, lush flowers & the present display of Inca orchids. Choosing a Monday, there we no queue for tickets or the elevators which made the whole experience wonderful. One downside was that we were advised to travel to the Gardens by the Bay subway which was a great mistake with long distances to walk before reaching the major sights. Start at Bayfront station, where you'll find a nearby ticket office and shuttle for the gardens and enjoy the walk through the 'trees'.

An exquisite way to see in sunset
I’ll be honest: I wasn’t especially excited or impressed by the ‘Flower Dome’, which is basically an indoor botanical garden peppered with fairytale favourites like Alice in Wonderland. Some of this I found basically tacky, though the dragons and other mythical beasts carved out of trees were impressive to behold. Few of the plants are so exotic as to pique one’s curiosity. I am sure families and young children would get more out of a visit than I did. Ultimately, though, the star attraction is the observatory and other elevated flower-shaped towers of the Gardens by the Bay. We timed our visit to be stop the observatory as sun set, and this was both beautiful and surprisingly relaxing despite the abundance of visitors. In addition, the lights show kicked in right after sunset which is impressive indeed (and which we observed at ground level having descended from the observatory). When illuminated by night, there is indeed something futuristic and otherworldly about this place. I found myself thinking what a great place this would be to come on a date, with an evening picnic and a few drinks to enjoy during the light show. I recommend a visit.

    Impressive
Famous but very beautiful part of Singapore. Most of it is free to walk and opens at 5am. There are a few parts you have to pay for. The Flower Dome has an impressive range of interesting plants and trees. The OCBC Skyway gives better views of the city and gardens than the Supertree Grove. Of a night time, the trees are beautifully lit up

    Great light/sound show
A unique and fabulous place to visit. You must view at night to see the lights and hear the sounds. Although very pretty in the day time too. Great place to take kids as they are captivated by the light/sound show. Close walk to the underground which is a very efficient and economical way to get around Singapore.

    Fabulous day out
Gardens by the bay is a wonderful way of spending time in Singapore. From the Flower dome to the cloud forest, we felt one with nature - good value and easy to get to with the MRT. Food at Satay by the bay is excellent (and good value) too.

Highly recommend the Gardens and Domes.
We preordered our tickets online, as we were advised this was better to avoid queues, though they were not long even though it was very busy with the weekend and Chinese New Year. A much better experience than Sands Hotel observation deck, the garden was far better organised. Took the underground train to Bayfront. Walked along cool air conditioned walkway to the entrance. Then paid 3 SGD for shuttle to domes. Well worth it after a hot day in Singapore. Did the Flower Dome first. Beautiful. Also discovered a little restaurant at the far end called Hortus. It was a lovely, quiet Mediterranean food restaurant. A nice alternative to the many Asian restaurants. Had Kebabs and Ratte potatoes, excellent. The queue at the Cloud Forest Dome was over an hour long so we decided to go straight to the Skyway. Another 50 minute queue but half way along has seats. We managed to time it perfectly to reach the top of the lift at 7.45pm just as the 10 minute light show started. A fantastic experience. We decided to see what the queue would be like for the Cloud Forest dome as the stage show in the centre was still in progress. No queue, so got in before the 8.30pm last entrance. We had a wonderful mysterious, experience walking around the dome in the night light, no crowds. Wonderful waterfall and orchid displays, etc. We weren’t expecting such a lovely time after a disappointing morning at the Sands Hotel deck.

    A must place to visit.
A beautiful park anytime of the day. Lots of open space to explore with areas to sit and relax. A number of activities are available at a reasonable cost, but you can enjoy the evening light show for free. There 2 shows in the evening.
Hi there! Thanks for your kind review. We are glad you enjoyed the Garden Rhapsody show. We hope to see you at the gardens soon! Cheers, Amalina

This is what we did. These gardens (park) are free however as most reviewers wrote, there are four paying attractions inside these free gardens which I will briefly review all these four instead of separate:

OCBC Skyway: We enjoyed walking through that skywalk, is really nice. Great for photos. It moves a bit when there are winds. Think it twice if acrophobic. Will recommend to do this skywalk in the morning before 11, late afternoon or during sunset before closing time (to avoid noon heat). I would recommend to buy the ticket directly there, check the weather forecast before intending to go because when rains (a lot) or windy, the attraction is closed (reason why not buy the tickets in advance)

Supertree grove: an observatory tower disguised as tree with a cafeteria and panorama terraces. The same applies about checking in advance the weather forecast.

Flower Dome: One of the largest glass greenhouse in the world. Lots of different quality of flora, we particularly liked much the baobabs and the succulent flora, even though we are not much into plants and flowers, this is nice to see. We got some free flowers because end of the monthly flower exhibit (in our case, roses)

Cloud Forest: Completely awe, we loved it. One of the tallest indoor waterfalls in the world with lush tropical plants and incredible skywalks.

For each attraction check their monthly closure date if coincides with the days planned to visit. As wrote before, check the weather forecast for the first two; the last two, no problems to visit if sunny or raining. There are shuttle buses available when raining at a additional cost, very well organized. If don’t want to spend so much (or nothing at all) still can enjoy these gardens watching from the outside; there is a free night lights and music show in the trees area (Garden Rhapsody, check the hours, they change) and after this, can run to see Spectra show at Marina. Definetely the number one attraction in Singapore!

There are so many attractions in this area that it could easily take a full day. We opted to visit the gardens (free), the Garden Rhapsody night time light show (free - get there early to find a good seat for viewing; it was packed by 7:15 for the 7:45 show), the Flower Dome (paid attraction - super busy due to cherry blossom season), the Cloud Forest (paid attraction), and the Skyway (paid attraction). We felt it was money well spent on three unique attractions. The indoor greenhouses are well maintained, well labeled, and organized in sections so you can learn more about the flora or tree species you are looking at. The Flower Dome and Cloud Forest are closed once or twice a month for maintenance so check the dates on the official website before booking tickets. There was quite a queue to buy tickets so you may consider buying tickets online. There is a sign with a QR code that you can scan to buy tickets online if you showed up and the line was long. There are different prices for locals and foreigners and they do accept credit cards. We took the MRT to Gardens by the Bay which was a bit of a trek to the entrance/ticketing office. Recommend Bayfront stop instead as an alternative. There is still some walking for the latter through MBS Mall, MBS hotel, across a bridge and through the Supertree Grove but it's partially covered and partially indoors with A/C. The Skyway is a great alternate view of the Gardens and the other Supertrees. You get a sense of how large the Gardens are by being on the elevated Skyway, and you have a skyline and water view as well. We had thought about being on the Skyway for the evening lightshow but when we bought the ticket, the ticketing agent said we had to go there first. No problem as the day time views are spectacular as well. The Skyway will close if there is inclement weather (heavy rain, windy, etc.) and you won't be allowed up. Currently, there is a special exhibit (Avatar) going on that you can participate in with a paid ticket. There is also an exhibit in the Flower Dome (Sakura) to celebrate the cherry blossoms with special displays. The sites are ADA friendly with ramps, elevators/lifts for families, older parents, etc. Indoor areas have A/C. If you are in the area in early evening, recommend watching the 7:45 show, walking over to MBS to explore the mall and waterfront, and find a good viewing point for the Spectra water fountain, light show that starts at 9pm (free). Singapore is called the Garden City and this area says a lot about that moniker.

There are two attractions in Singapore that stand above other places to visit, namely the world famous Botanic Gardens including the National Orchid Collection and the equally world famous Gardens by the Bay. Both attractions will both inspire and amaze you.
There’s so much to see at Gardens by the Bay in addition to the cloud forest zone and the flower zone so better to allow a more or less full day. It’s easy to reach by MRT followed by a leisurely stroll to the entrance. However, be warned that on this road cyclists pay little regard to pedestrians.
To avoid long queues at the admissions building, it is better to book online in advance of your visit. It also prevents standing in a queue for some considerable time in the heat. Be advised that this attraction is extremely popular so aim to go as early as possible and you will hopefully avoid the many organised tours.
The cloud forest zone is fantastic with its cascading waterfalls and an incredible collection of plants. Take your time! There is always a magnificent collection of orchids, pitcher plants, shrubs, trees and a host of other plants. Placed within the plants are some very interesting sculptures.
The flower zone included some gardens from different parts of the world e.g. South Africa and Australia. Again, take your time! Our last two visits have been near Christmas and the flower zone themed decorations were brilliant. It can become very busy indeed so, as with the cloud forest zone, arrive as early as possible.
The two zones form only part of Gardens by the bay. The awe inspiring supertrees complete with an high level walkway ( additional fee required) which are floodlit in the evening, the more recent wet zone and a number of cafes and restaurants for when aching feet need a rest) make for an exhilarating day!
Make sure camera/ phone batteries are fully charged and comfortable footwear should be worn.
Very highly recommended.

We came here on New Year’s Eve at night time to explore just before seeing the fireworks. This garden is a must do when you are in Singapore, especially at night time also if you can! We did have to pay to see the main Garden Rhampsody as it had become an event (Christmas Spectacular), which in itself was pretty cool because there was fake snow, stunning light displays and a nice light show attuned to music. We did a walking loop around the whole gardens which was approximately 3 km this was very flat. This area is a feast for your eyes you will always be seeing something so beautiful while walking here, you can go into a lot of different other attractions which can cost a fee (such as the the flower dome, skywalk etc) and you will also see the beautiful city buildings while here. You could spend at least half a day at these gardens or more. There are many places to eat in the garden, toilets available in the garden and it’s good for all ages.

A landmark futuristic botanical garden with a large super treegrove. The entrance can be reached from the MRT bayfront station via an underground passageway. This station is also directly connected to the famous Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Admission to Gardens by the Bay is free, but it might take a day to see all the fee-paying facilities. If you have time, you may want to take time to look around each of the facilities, but if you don't have time, you will be able to fully enjoy just visiting the free places in the park. There is also a free 15-minute light and music show called Garden Rhapsody, which runs twice daily at 19:45 and 20:45. It is so wonderful that I highly recommend watching it too.

This isn’t just one of the best things to do in Singapore but one of the best things to do in the world, and a must visit for anyone who’s in Singapore. The gardens were beautiful and me and my partner spent the whole day there just walking round exploring and relaxing, I wouldn’t say it’s a place you can just quickly visit and take it all in, you should definitely commit a good amount of time to properly enjoy it. We brought tickets for the Cloud Forest and Supertree Observatory, which were a bit pricey for our budget but definitely worth it as both were amazing, the Cloud Forest was quite crowded but it didn’t take too much away from it. I’d also recommend renting bikes on an app like AnyWheel so you can have a nice relaxing cycle around the gardens.

Now, I'd like to preface this review by saying the Cloud Forest was spectacular. That was by far my favourite part of the Gardens by the Bay, and I will recommend it to every person I know travelling to Singapore. The majesty of what they've created deserves a review all its own (which I will surely publish shortly).

Another important note: I did not visit the "Floral Fantasy" or "OCBC Skyway".

OKAY, with that out of the way let's press on. The first thing I did was visit the Flower Dome. It was beautiful in many ways, but suffers the same fate as many attractions of the same calibre: overcrowding. I will say the tourists here were surprisingly more cordial than tourists I've encountered at the Vatican Museums or Venice as a whole. Regardless, their incessant need to photograph every little detail did drain my social battery at lightning speed. You could not move without photobombing someone.

The "Impressions of Monet" special exhibit was actually kind of disappointing, I must say. If you've ever experienced the "Imagine Monet" or "Imagine Van Gogh" exhibits which have appeared all over the world, then this may fall short for you too. My feeling the entire time was that they were trying to provide you with Monet-level quality, without actually investing in Monet. For example, in one section they put up framed pictures of Monet's work. Now I saw this and assumed they were showcasing real pieces that were perhaps on loan from some museums. In fact, these were all replicas. What is the point of creating this type of exhibition, just to put up replicas? Additionally, in the final section they show a bunch of Monet's art by projecting them on walls, and it's quite beautiful if you're familiar with the "Imagine Monet" exhibits. But they interspersed pieces by Monet with stock footage of flowers, scenery, etc.. it seemed to cheapen the experience.

This next point is not as important, but I think it's worth mentioning: the Supertrees are smaller than they appear in pictures. This may sound nitpicky, but I was honestly disappointed when I saw them. So disappointed in fact that I no longer cared to buy tickets for the OCBC Skyway.

Again, my visit was limited so by no means am I an expert on the Gardens, but based on my experience it is certainly not something I would consider a "must-do" in Singapore... Except for the Cloud Forest, that definitely is.

Hi thomasliama! Thank you for your feedback! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the experiences at Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. We understand that holiday period tends to be crowded, and thank you for your patience and understanding. The digital art exhibition - Impressions of Monet: The Experience you had visited, is a multi-sensory exhibition that celebrate the works and life of Monet and his contemporaries, and not meant to be an exhibition of his actual works. The multi-sensory exhibition features dynamic displays of light, colour, sound, and fragrance, which provides a different experience and dimension to help guests appreciate his art. Thank you again for visiting the Gardens! Cheers, Amalina

We booked a ticket that included Cloud Forrest and also Flower Dome including the Monet Exhibition. In planning the visit we were relieved to see there was a Gardens by the Bay MRT station, but on arrival found the exhibition was a half kilometre from the station. Given there is no shade or transport along the way just be aware that you are in for a long hot, steamy walk. I’d give the Cloud Forrest two thumbs up as an attraction worth seeing. But the Monet Exhibition is designed around the Artist and his art. I must have misunderstood the advertising as I thought it was about Monet in flowers, but outside of some dried flowers in low light, this is solely a video depiction of Monet art. Even the Flower Done itself was a bit lack lustre. Lots of green but not much colour. Gardens by the Bay is definitely worth seeing but look closely at visitor reviews to work out what is worth paying for.

What a fabulous place! You can walk around the gardens for free - there are a few attractions that you must book and pay for. They are well worth it! We visited the gardens by the bay on two separate days as there is so much to see. I recommend going early in the morning as it does get very hot and humid. We did return at night to see the free light show - fabulous! And we were lucky to see the animal sculptures "Love the Last March" that will be there through May 2024.

A great whole day experience with lots to see. However, if you’re tired at the end of it be careful to plan your travel back in advance! There were no cabs to be found and I’ve heard stories that if you do find one in the park they can rip you off. More signage about MTR routes would be helpful. (I’ve tried leaving this feedback on the Gardens by the Bay website but I couldn’t find anywhere to leave feedback.)

Also, despite the strong “look after our planet” theme, it is very difficult to refill your water bottle - I found one inside a baby-changing cubicle but there was a big queue !
