If you wanna learn something about tea and be able understand the difference between a white, green and oolong tea, you are definitively in the right place. The owner organizes tea appreciation seminars ( about 2-3 hours) for a little fee. Next to the shop which has a very nice selection of teas, tea pots and cups, there is a... More

I wrote a listing recommendation to trip advisor recently and to my surprise they listed the business up. I am a regular customer of Yixing Xuan Teahouse as my office is nearby. Hence I lunch here regularly as their service and price is very reasonable. Two of us easily only cost $15-$20. They serve good Dimsum as well as very... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
