We stayed in a hotel near Bugis street and were surprised at how cheap the souvenirs here compared to other places in Singapore. If you want to buy more souvenirs or even cheap food (hawkers) go and visit this place.

The markets are similar to Homebush or Paddies in Sydney but must larger. The atmosphere is great, plenty of to buy in cloths, drinks or eats. If you miss this you have missed part of Singapore
