We ate once here as well as having a late breakfast.on another day. Spotless with some interesting touristy shops. We bought two original local style paintings

Antique
Aug 2019
A very important part of Orchard road , the building itself is a historical monument of the ancient part of Singapore , it has several antique stores as well as very good clinics.

Much needed sactuary just before the Botanical Gardens
Aug 2019
We walked to the Botanical Gardens all the way from Chinatown. This shopping mall was a great place to stop to shop for snacks and drinks for our visit to the Botanical as well as for lunch before the visit.
We enjoyed our lunch in the food hall (many options from soup to meat as well as fruit).

Food cafe (Chikka Minutes) on level 3 at Tanglin shopping centre
Oct 2018 • Solo
If you are ever down at Tanglin shopping centre for courses or classes, you can visit the food cafe on level 3 (Chikka Minutes) which serves very affordable and delicious asian lunch sets at $6.50 per pax. However note that it is not halal. They also do takeaways. The other quick lunch place would be the food stall on level 1. Otherwise if you can spend more, visit Steeple's Deli on level 2 for good brownies, cakes, western food or indonesia food at the restaurant on level 4.

For a feel of Orchard Road shopping 40 years ago!
Oct 2018 • Solo
Not to be confused (as a reviewer did!) with the more modern, expat-favoured Tanglin Mall up the road, Tanglin Shopping Centre was built (as a luxury mall!) in 1971. It is remarkable that it still survives! What’s also amazing is the diversity of the tenants base: antique shops (from near-rubbish to real-treasure); tailors (same thing); carpet shops (including some beauties); medical clinics (lots), taekwondo, music or tuition classes for children; craft; etc. F&B wise, there isn’t much, except for Bari-Uma Ramen, which is pretty good if you don’t mind the deafening welcome greeting!

Speciality shopping mall
May 2018 • Family
Don’t confuse this place for Tanglin mall which is down the road. This mall is an older one with more specialised shops. These include antique and carpet shops as well as ballet, Pilates and Taekwondo studio. It’s not a place one would go just to go window shopping or looking for your chain shops or supermarket.

Casual Shopping
Apr 2018 • Couples
Great local shopping mall away from the hustle and bustle of the mega malls found in Orchard street Singapore. The supermarket on the lowest level is well stocked clean and well priced. There are a number of the brand retail stores also located in the mall. Coming from South Africa great to see Nandos Chicken Restaurant which is a great Portuguese style restaurant- do try there food out is simply delicious

Old and forgotten
Mar 2018 • Solo
Tanglin Shopping Center is a much older mall (about 30+ years' old) and not to be mixed up with the nearby Tanglin Mall, which is newer and bigger.

Tanglin Shopping Center has a lot of shops selling antiques, artifacts, paintings, jewelry, carpet and other exotic items.

Many people has forgotten this mall as it lacks any special shops or anchor tenants, which will attract the crowds.

Old World Charm but Somewhat Forgotten
Jan 2018
There were some lovely artefacts at this centre but we seemed to be the only customers shopping there. It has an air of being rather abandoned and out of date

Convenient with a variety of shops & restaurants
Jan 2018 • Couples
Moderate-sized and close to our hotel (on Tanglin Rd. near Orchard St). There are several levels with a variety of shops (not all touristy) and a food court with lots of reasonably-priced options. Worth a visit if you are nearby.
