Wet market: Many different types of vegetables n fresh meat n spices which you may not able to get elsewhere. Hawker Food: Many old stalls have closed down maybe due to the owner getting old. New stalls are up but may not be nice taste. Upstairs: Only been up once many years ago. As far I can remember, some stalls... More

We went twice and frequented a number of stalls each time and everything we had was really nice - satay, dumplings, curry, dhal, roti, paratha, naan. People were friendly and prices super cheap. Expect to get wet feet if you walk through the fish area!

I think nobody will be bored after going to this place. There are a lot of stalls selling cheap and affordable fruits and vegs here.

Been patronising Joe for almost 20 years. The attitude has always been stinky but we put up with it because the meats were great. Of late, we realized the meats we buy are as stinky as his attitude. We buy X kg of meat = Y pieces of meat. Finally got fed up of this BS so we went elsewhere.... More

There are two main levels to this building (not counting the carpark) with the lower one being a huge food court and the upper one selling all sorts of fabrics. The first thing I noticed about this place is that the Little India MRT station doesn’t open directly into the centre which means that you can end up wandering around... More

I never get tired of coming back to Tekka. Parking is a headache but taking the MRT works best. This round, I came to buy a Kurta to wear to a friend's wedding. There are a myriad of options on the 2nd floor. With so many shops to choose from, I took a stroll and decided on Sameer Saniyya at... More

If you are from India, this place cannot impress you. Almost all hawker markets of India resemble this place. Lot of food stalls selling Indian food at economical prices, a wet market with fish and other meats, cloth stalls and stalls selling everything else .. Sounds, sights and smells of everything that is Indian...

Tekka center is a very crowded market place in Singapore. Lots of menu items to choose from and food is good & economical too.

Staying in Little India

Neighbourhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly coloured saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colourful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Centre, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colourful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
