About
From a humble troupe of seven ballet dancers practising in an old studio on Killiney Road, the Singapore Dance Theatre has evolved into a well-patronised performing arts group comprising 24 dancers pre-dominantly from the Asia Pacific region.

Too disappointed by the midday show. All dancers were very good except the 2 soloists who were very boring to watch, did not give much emotion.
Ballet was good though thanks to nice choregraphy and brightful costumes

At the beginning of the year, I watched the opening of Singapore Dance Theatre's 2014 season with Ballet’s greatest romantic story which was inspired by Shakespeare’s tragedy of two lovers from two feuding families. Powerful and expressive choreography and skilful dancers was accompanied by a powerful score by Sergei Prokofiev. This passionate tale of love and tragedy will captivate the audience. The dance is choreographed by Goh Choo San, a Singaporean mastercraftsman in dance. Anyone into ballet will be amazed by how good the dancers are.
Just tonight, I watched Don Quixote. The powerful music by Ludwig Minkus, staging by the legendary Cynthia Harvey and fabulous costumes by Australian Designer Bruce McKinven certainly propels Don Quixote to an explosive, colourful spectacle of majestic dancing. The story is about the adventures of the old yet energetic Don Quixote, and his devotion and quest to find his dream lady, Sancho Panza. Along the way, his path crossed that of the lovely Kitri and the charming Basilio, who are to marry. I cant say how much I love this ballet. Go catch it while it is still on.
