The central business district is filled with skyscrapers, like most of the central business districts in other countries. The historical part of this was that Singapore was striving on trade in the beginning. The Singapore river was a very busy port in those days with bum boats transporting goods from bigger ships anchored out in the sea. This is where it all began!

The CBD is about 1,700 HA of high Rise office buildings and some low rise housing and is basically the area along the Singapore River and Marina Bay and surrounding areas. It is the most densly populated area of Singapore and well serviced by MRT Stations. There are some interesting walking areas particlarly along the river.

Just like any other city in the world. Singapore is my home, the only proud moment to tell the world these skyscrapers are beautiful and you come take alook. In terms of placement and unity of the buildings. I think they are beautiful.

An amazing sight to see these huge skyscrapers towering about the city of Singapore. After business hours during the week, the place is buzzing with employees from the numerous buildings and companies, all milling around the bars and Hawkers and creating a good atmosphere. City Hall Metro Station can be locally found and the heart of the Central Business District (CBD) is a rough fifteen to twenty minute walk from Merlion Park and the Fullerton Hotel.
Overall, the CBD offers many opportunities for food and drink and observing the skyline from the top of Marina Sands Bay Hotel on a clear evening is excellent.

This part of the city is very easily accessible by bus and MRT ( Raffles place ). At this central business district, you can see many skyscrapers with beautiful architecture. That area is really well maintained and very clean.
Recently on my visit, it was a few days after Christmas, there were Christmas trees still available on display at the entrance of the building. This place is also good for photo taking as well.

The Central Business District in Singapore has an ultra modern look about it and is one place where one can witness and experience the hi-tech infrastructure of this great city nation. One can always find some construction activity going on here. Well connected by MRT and city bus services.

Singapore's CBD would compete with any USA city: economically, socially, politically and health wise. Very clean subway system and very efficient. The heart of the economic, financial and residential part of the city. Shopping and retail in abundance along with corporate offices. Residential high-rise living is also in abundance with spectacular views and sights on the city. The only place to live. Love it!

Every time we visit Singapore, we never fail to be impressed by its central business district with its impressive skyline of skyscrapers.
During our most recent visit to Singapore we passed through the central business district on several occasions both on foot and in vehicles. On each occasion we were impressed by the eclectic mixture of modern and old architecture.
It was interesting to note that as always, as obvious policy of renewal continues with some of the "dated" modern style buildings being demolished and new skyscrapers being built to replace them. We also noticed a continuation of on-going improvements to the road and public transport systems within the C.B.D.
An exciting place to be during weekdays but very quiet on the weekends!

Hello,
This is Mrittika from India.
Am visiting Singapore from 23-Feb'15 till 1-Mar'15 for vacation along with my parents. Let me know the popular restaurants or cafés onsite/nearby? Also, how do I get there using public transportation from Hotel Park Sovereign-Albert?
Thanks.
