About
The city’s most popular stretch of beach always buzzes with activity – even when it’s not playing host to the wide spectrum of sporting events that grace its shores regularly, like the Singapore Marathon and Xtreme Championship.

- jackS1525LM3 contributionsEast Coast Park, SingaporeOne cool place not so visible in Travel Guides is East Coast Park, Singapore. This is a large green space alongside a stretch of several kilometres of sandy beach. The area is covered with lots of trees providing adequate shade and contributing to a pleasant atmosphere. A cycling track runs along the full length of the park. Tracks for pedestrians and joggers are also found in most areas as well as playgrounds and other facilities for one and all including kids. There is one fishing jetty where many locals are seen trying their luck with their fishing poles. Looking at the horizon one can see ships queuing to enter the harbour. Barbecue pits are provided for picnickers at various locations. Restaurants, hawker food and other retail outlets are found here and there. The place is clean and well maintained. A public bus service is available from Bedok Bus Interchange during weekends and public holidays. Car parks are also available at different places and pedestrian underpasses connect the park to nearby residential areas. This nice place is certainly worth visiting, especially in the morning or before sunset in order to avoid the scorching heat when the sun is high in the sky.Visited March 2019Written 2 February 2020
- kim buay pSingapore, Singapore11,207 contributionsA very fun experience to explore the isolated area of East Coast parkWe decided to rent our lady's bikes at the GoCycling outlet at East Coast Park C4 as it is the only outlet that opens at 8 am on a weekday. The rental rate is $8 for one hour with another free hour. As we chose to return our bicycle at the T2 outlet, we needed to put a deposit of $50 which was given back to us when we returned our bicycles at T2 outlet. The bicycles are in very good condition and our seats' heights were adjusted for us. The cycling path was wonderful, a great improvement over the old path many years back. As we went further towards Changi, it got more scenic. The path are quite wide and there were not many people cycling at that time. We took about an hour to reach the junction of two cycling paths, one leading to T2 and the other leading to Changi. We decided to explore abit more of the Changi Coastal path even though we are returning our bicycles at T2. The view along this stretch is very beautiful and our photos resemble the coastal area of Southern Italy with the blue sky and turquoise sea water. The Jurassia Mile is now modified with high fence and many dinosaurs have been moved to different parts of the park connector between the Jurassic Mile and T2 Hub and Spoke area. There is a water cooler next to the bicycle rental shop at T2. We took bus 36 at T2 basement bus stop to lunch at Etna restaurant at Upper East Coast Road. The three main functioning GoCycling outlets are at East Coast park C4, T2 and Changi Beach Park C1.Visited April 2021Written 28 April 2021

It’s always great to visit this place early morning to complete a full cycle from East Coast to end of Changi Beach Park. Not only a place for Cycling, running and rollerblades but also great for picnic or BBQ gathering. There plenty of shops where you can rent your bicycle, rollerblades, and even food and restaurants. There are also plenty of vending machines so you can buy some drinks if you didn’t bring yours (would recommend to bring your own bottle - to save planet). A must in your where to go list in Singapore.Visited January 2020Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 January 2020

Love walking and cycling by the long stretch of shore. I like that it is connected to the city by pedestrian friendly underpasses, and there are several restaurants by the beach.

This place is not popular among tourists rather you will find more locals here. The long sandy beach is good for evening stroll. The windy beach allows you to relax and makes you comfortable. You will find number of barbeques along the coastline which can be used by paying nominal charges to the government and barbeque your own food. Local people come here for their fitness but you seldomly find them walking, they all run, that's amazing.

East Coast Park is probably one of the largest parks, if not the largest park in Singapore, covering an area of 185ha. It's divided into different areas (from area A to H).
It's during the March school holiday that we visited here on a weekday afternoon after our heavy dinning and decided to come by here for a walk. We came by the Area B of the park, near the Meyer Road Playground and the playground Once Upon A Time. This is not the more popular areas like opposite Parkway Parade, or the chalets and seafood restaurant area where more people would go.
It's not crowded at all when we arrived despite being school holidays though we did see a handful or people, jogging or cycling around. Although it's sunny then, the sea breezes were strong and was very windy. Very quiet and from here, we could catch a glimpse of the Marina South area.
We strolled along the canal that led us to the open sea. It was scenic and nice. We enjoyed the breezes while watching the ships passing by with aircrafts flying towards Changi Airport, a few people were spotted swimming, sun tanning and even fishing.
There's bbq pits, fitness center, road safety park, playgrounds (as mentioned earlier) and bicycle rental booth nearby. However, there's no shop/booth selling drinks or snacks although there were vending machines outside the washroom. But there's many parking lots here!
Overall, it's a nice place to be, near to our mother nature!

Singapore is a place we visited many times over the years, but we never appreciated its diversity. On this latest occasion we stayed in the east side of the city and had easy access to this lovely area.
The beach isn’t the best, nor the coastline, the prettiest as it is lined with tankers, but at least it’s there.
You can walk for several miles into the city through the park along the walkway for bikes and people. It is beautiful kept and has a lot of variance and things to offer.

The park that you can go anytime. I did a solo Yoga session on one of the evenings near the beach (free of charge) and felt great as people jog and skate further away. Hardly get distracted but air and wind was good. Some folks were just enjoying the breeze on chairs.

Looking for a beach holiday for the kids. Is this a good place for the kids to do some swimming? Is the water clean, warm and are there waves to play in? Trying to avoid Sentosa!

Apparently it’s safe to swim however haven’t seen many swimmers. Could be because the water may not be all that clean. There are multiple other water sport activities for kids and adults.

I read East coast park is wheel chair friendly. I want to know if the wheelchairs are chargeable. Also wherefrom within the park area can i access wheelchairs for my senior citizen parents? Thanks!

It’s wheelchair friendly place meaning that there are no steps to hinder the maneuvering of the wheel chair. But there’s no wheelchair for public use there. So you will have to bring your own.

Hello!
I plan to visit Singapore for 2 weeks with 2 children. Beach vacation near the East Coast Park. Can we freely there sunbathing and swim? What are the limitations?
Roseocean
Sugar Land, TX83 contributions
Yes, people do get in the water. The majority of people go to do onshore activities. Ride bikes you rent, walk, see sun rise over the water and enjoy meal at restaurant or on the grass. We never really saw anyone sunbathing. That was done at Sentosa. Make sure you get your free MRT card with your passport to use the public Mass Rail Transit system. You add money to this card to use the bus, river taxi and underground train. Singapore's public system is great. Everyone uses it.

Hello guys,Im ankit and Im gonna be travelling to Singapore on 29th of September and will stay there for one day,30th sept and the hotel that I've booked is the Venue hotel, which I think aint that far from Eeast Coast Park.
Please if anyone could tell me is 600 USD enough for a day in Singapore, Im planing to convert only 200 USD though.
And How much could be the cab charge from airport to my hotel which is like 13 kms from the airport.
And also My flight back to India is in the morning 7 Am on 1st October so is it easy to get a cab at night because I will leave for the airport at 3 or 4AM.
And yes does the East Coast Park a free public park or is there a fee to enter it.?
Thanks in Advance
Regards

Morning : Breakfast in Chinatown hawker center. Visit the Buddha Relic temple (7 mins walk).
Then head to civic district via Singapore River. It's about 20 mins walk. You will see the old part of Singapore.
Noon : Get some lunch at Rochor Hawker Center. Plenty of affordable local food there. Go before 12 noon to avoid the lunch time crowd.
Afternoon : It will be very warm and humid then. Go to Mustafa Shopping, the only 24 hrs store in SG that sells everything except pork & alcohol. Loved finding little surprises there.
