This is the worst attraction I have ever done. I don’t believe any of those positive reviews are for real.

The tour is about a half an hour train ride where you can see poor animals (most probably trapped on a very short area)

Don’t book this tour. Please just don’t do it! I promise you you will regret it!

I suppose I should have guessed this would be a problem before buying tickets to the night safari, but the darkness really does cause an issue! I had a 7:15pm entrance ticket, so only just after sunset, and went straight on the tram ride. I spent the whole tram ride squinting in to the darkness straining to see the animals. I am convinced some of the enclosures are empty as when I revisited them on the walking trails I still couldn’t see anything.
The animals I could see, left me feeling quite sad at the size of their enclosures. The tiger in particular was pacing back and forth a very well trodden track in an unacceptably small enclosure for such a large, powerful animal.

A bit of a silly concept, I left feeling a bit disappointed with wasting my money. Don’t bother!

An Amazing Holiday Attraction Option for the family!
.
A1 Facilities / Animal Care and Conservation
.
If your looking for an adventure wether your travelling alone or with your family, you cannot go past this Singapore Stalwart.
.
First tip note. Take a GRAB or Taxi. Save yourself the hassle of buses etc… From the city will cost around $20AUD (To us this is heaps cheaper than home). You then go straight in, no battling with other people
.

The night Safari and Zoo facilities has been around for a long time (I first came here as a 3 year old with my Dad and I’m now 41 as a Father myself), but every time I come back personally it changes and upgrades itself with the Animals as their top priority!

Book online to save yourself the hassle of lining up, once inside, hop into the Creatures of the Night show or straight into the Park Tram.

The Tram will take you around most of the park within 45 mins and get you the comfort of familiarity of knowing the park and sections, then you can get back at the start destination and walk the trials you missed, but knowing where your going.
.
Kids loved the Tigers and Hyena area.
.
The whole purpose of the park at night is to feel natural for the guests ‘in the jungle’, and for the animals so if you don’t like dimmed lit streets (like moonlight) and walking cemented sometimes tight trials spotting animals on hills, then maybe consider staying and just doing the tram and shows.

We have a family of 4 (2 kids under 10) and this took us around 2.5 hours to complete and a total of 10Km on the stepometer!

Take a drink with you as the walks in and between sections can be between 600m-850m but you have to combat up and down trails (not too strenuous) along with crowds at the popular spots. It can get hot and muggy too as it is Singapore (I must of went through 2 Hotel waters alone). You can at least buy cold drinks at different stations around the park and vending machines.

This park is owned by the renowned Mandai Group and Animal Conservation is the key here, that is the priority and you can see how well the animals are looked after and catered for.

Final Tip, plan ahead and do the Tram, walk before you do the creatures of the night show. Pre book your seats for the show (free included in ticket) at the start of coming in (QR Booking system). We booked for 9.30 show (goes for about 20mins) we then had dinner (as park opens 7pmish) and quick bite before heading back to hotel.
.
If your taking kids, don’t stress them out in the earlier part of the day. They will need their strength for the walking at night.

II wouldn’t waste your money or time on this Night safari. We have just been on the Night safari in Bali and it was amazing. The tigers jumped on top of the cage we were in and you got up close to them. Singapore zoo needs to offer the same experience that the Bali safari offers

I don't know whether this is emporor's new clothes or whether me and my family just didn't get it. To be fair we had spent most of the day in the Zoo and River Wonders (which were both fabulous) and maybe we were just tired.
We got the first tram as we were told to - basically when it is the lightest it can be.
It was very relaxing but we could barely see anything - both because the tram moves too fast and the light is obviously bad.
We were so disappointed that we left after the tram and didn't see the show or the walks. So maybe that would have elevated the experience.
So if someone were to ask me which to do if they only had time for one I would say the Zoo/River Wonders without a doubt. If you have several weeks in Singapore then do this but maybe not straight after the zoo. Sorry to disappoint as I hate leaving a "bad" review but I just didn't get the idea of driving past animals in poor light quickly.

One of a kind experience, going through the zoo in a tram at night. The area is well lit, but only enough to give that dusk vibe. Just enough to be able to see the animals, yet have that "scary movie" feeling as you approach each exhibit. The binturong (bearcats) were particularly creepy.

The park's barriers seem to melt away in the darkness which makes you feel more up close with the leopards, elephants and lions. The atmosphere is heightened by the antelopes that stroll by the trams you are traveling in. When visiting this location, make sure your camera flash is off. Safari personnel take this rule very seriously and have been known to stop rides because of the flashers.

We really enjoyed the Night Safari. You take a 45 minute tram ride through the zoo (some areas can't be visited except by tram) and at the end, you can walk around on paths to see more animals (or some of the same animals) up close. We saw a lot of the animals while in the zoo. It was interesting to see them at night. Many of the paths were not well lit (probably due to the zoo's animals) and it was a little tricky at times for my elderly parents. There were also "wild" animals in the zoo such as bats and monkeys. I think it just added to the excitement! It was very well run and I would recommend it to anyone coming to Singapore (not just those with kids).

We went on the Night Safari yesterday evening and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! We don't usually visit zoos due to ethical reasons, but our research into Mandai showed that they had passed several reviews for ethics and animal welfare - and I must say this was evident in the centre.

What made the biggest impression on us was the staff - they were so kind, helpful and courteous. It was obvious they loved their job. It was also extremely impressive that they could address guests in multiple languages.

I want to particularly highlight the lady who hosted the "Creatures of the Night" show at 10.30pm. At home, I am a falconer and I work in raptor rehabilitation and conservation - and I can understand exactly how expertly and professionally the lady hosted the show. Very very well done. Thank you Mandai zoo for a very memorable trip!

Was weary what to expect considering you normally don’t see some animals at zoos due to foliage etc but was greatly surprised. Really nice to see animals doing their nocturnal behaviours. Very nice and pleasant date night. The creatures of the night ensures some action also.
