At the School of Hard Knocks located at Royal Selangor’s Clarke Quay flagship store, participants will learn how an enterprising teenager from China practised his craft, laying the foundation of what has become Royal Selangor. A fun-filled 30 – 45 mins session using just a few simple tools (hammer, wooden mould, scraper), participants will make a pewter dish personalised with their initials or whatever message that they wish to engrave onto the dish.Step by step, our experienced pewtersmith will guide them through the simple processes of forming, scraping, polishing and packing. The finished dish is to keep, along with an apron to complete the memento. A personalised certificate will be presented to the participants to attest to their newfound skills.The School of Hard Knocks is conducted in groups of 2 to 30 people per session. It is essential to make reservations for the hour-long fun-filled workshop to avoid disappointment.
