Long Bar is now closed as part of our restoration programme and is slated for a grand reopening in the middle of 2018, along with the rest of the hotel. Home of the Singapore Sling, this two-story bar located on the second floor of Raffles Singapore is the place where travellers undergo one of the true rites of passage of travel. While there, sip on the world famous pink cocktail created in 1915 by bar captain Ngiam Tong Boon, and toss peanut shells onto the floor, the only place in Singapore where "littering" is permitted. The menu also offers a melange of cocktails and non-alcoholic concoctions, together with traditional pub favourites. The earthy interiors are inspired by Malayan plantation life in the 1920s. Oriental carpets are overlain on tiled floors and the furniture is traditional stained cane and rattan. A charming timber spiral staircase connects the two levels of the Long Bar with the seating above interspersed with teak lounge chairs.

Da ol' momma's died and gone to heaven - she left the last unwashed dish in the sink. That's the recipe for the original Singapore Sling, which had long been entered into mythology. No one knows what or where it is, until the good brother...More

Having been to Singapore on a couple of occasions, I really needed to have a Singapore sling where the drink was created. So we all visited the Long Bar in Raffles hotel. The service was excellent and the drinks superb! Peanuts are on each table...More

I was told the Singapore sling cocktail is a must to try in Singapore. I was there on Friday evening and this place is quiet probably because of the hotel undergoing refurbishment. The Long Bar is operated as usual. The origin and famous Singapore Sling...More

Beautiful colonial hotel in a lovely location. The Singapore Sling glass is small so you don't get much cocktail for your money. It was 31 Singapore dollars per drink but the bill was 36.50 each when the taxes were added. Is it worth it -...More

The long bar has been replaced by the Bilard Room, which is much larger and less cosy and autentic. I would not recommend anymore to pay it a visit if you visit Singapore

This is a time travel. The atmosphere brings you back in times, the bar is beautiful and you must try the Singapore Sling. Fun moment when you throw the peanut shells on the ground Expensive (very) but worth it !

Well this is a classic place. Unfortunately, this is a classic place! Lots of people and even tour buses drop people off here. I would go early say 10:30am (check what time it opens). Have a beer, you don't need to have a Singapore sling....More

The Long bar is the place you visit as a tourist when you come to Singapore to have your Singapore Sling. Nice atmosphere with the linear ceiling fans wafting gently and the Hessian bag of peanuts on the table in every booth. The service is...More
