Our free tours grew out of a love for the country in which we live and a desire to share this with others by showing a Singapore as seen through our eyes.

Our guides have all been living in Singapore for a very long time, and we are all licensed by the Singapore Tourism Board. Our inside knowledge and passion for Singapore and its creative scene is second to none.

Really interesting walk and our guide Wei is a very enthusiastic and knowledgable. I took the Singapore river walk this time, but am keen on taking the other two walks they offer while I'm here. Definitely take some water with you as Singapore weather is hot and humid, but there are opportunities to get something along the way, and we... More

Really recommend this pay-as-you-wish walking tour. Our guide's name is Wei. He is very knowledgeable, attractive and lovely person. We took 3,5 hours to walk around the Bugis Area, including Kampoeng Glam. Not only let us take a picture of the area, Wei also explained about the history and cultural stories about it. We had some breaks and one longer... More

After reading the positive reviews on here we did the 3 free walking tours. Chinatown Tuesday, Kampong Wednesday and civic district Thursday. Wei is very enthusiastic and proud of his country. His knowledge is excellent. The tours were easy walking pace with several short stops and one longer one. We tried Hainanese chicken rice at a food centre which we... More

Wei provided excellent background and current information on the city. He was easy to understand. It was a walking tour and covered a lot of territory. Weather was perfect and we had a break in the middle of the tour. There was a museum store at the break location for shopping. We were able to take the tour in the... More

I spent 1 week in Singapore and I went on Indie Singapore tours twice - Chinatown and Civic District walking tours with Wei. Both tours were very informative and interesting. Tours were with a group so I even made friends there! Highly recommend Indie Singapore and Wei! Thank you for such an amazing experience in Singapore

We had a very short time in Singapore pre-cruise. Contacted Indie Singapore based on previous reviews. They tailored a tour that matched our interests and fit our timeline. Iris met us at the Wanderlust Hotel in Little India with van and driver who took our luggage. Walking tour as requested through traditional ethnic neighborhoods. Driver met us for each 'transition'... More

We had an opportunity to also meet some amazing tourist on the tour with us. Everyone was very pleased with the knowledge that Wei brought as well as the humor! It... More

This is probably one of the best walking tours I've joined in my travels! Amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable and you can really feel the pride and love for his country. Highly recommended! I will definitely go back to Singapore, and I will make sure to sign up again for the tour. Special thanks to Wei for accommodating me!

My husband and I spent a week in Singapore and did two days walking tours with Wei through Chinatown and the Business district. We were enthralled by the rich history and culture shared by our knowedgeable guide. A born and bred Singaporean, Wei shared his rich knowledge of Singapore's history, culture, tips and pride of his country. The three hours... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
