A lovely diversion even when you are too early for the butterflies
If early in the morning (around 7 am) in terminal 3, as we were, there are only a few butterflies to see because they mostly only come out in the daytime not at night. The signs were very clear that would be the case so we were not disappointed and we got to experience a pretty garden with multiple levels and a waterfall for free with little effort. It was dark when we started then became lighter so we could see more. I thought it was worthwhile to visit even without the butterflies as if you're stuck at an airport what else are you going to do?

    Butterflies galore
Situated in Terminal 3 at Changi Airport, the Butterfly Garden is a nice way to pass some time between flights. It is rather warm, though. The place is situated over two levels (and can be accessed from both) and is full of lovely butterflies. There are some great photo ops. as, certainly when we were there, fruit is laid out for the butterflies which means there are all sorts sitting around sipping nectar which makes taking photos so easy. Give it a whirl.

    Excellent short visit
I was happy to visit this quite hidden place while waiting for my flight to Tokyo. It is a fairly small place but sufficient to learn more about butterflies. I would recommend a visit here as the butterflies fluttering among the colorful flowers is a joy to watch.

Pop in if you’re in terminal 3 departure lounge
Nice to pop in and look at the butterflies while you’re in Terminal 3 departures. Best to go whilst it’s sunny and warm as they’re more active then. Only take about 15 minutes or so but a nice thing to do in order to pass the time. Once you enter the departures hall - go straight ahead to the left of Louis Vuitton. Then turn right and walk along the large glazed windows overlooking the run way past the children’s play area. Open til 5pm.

Very nice visit before taking our international flight home - so many butterflies
This was a "must see" place on our list, when waiting for our international flight home. Located in Terminal 3, very easy to get to. Note that it is very very warm, so don't wear your coat for air transit. There are a lot of visitors, but you can enter from two levels. One will require you to walk down some stairs. Lots of flowers and butterflies. A nice waterfall as well.

It a nice cosy garden would hv been better if the emergence cage could be open daily to let the newly born butterflies a chance to live. Instead saw many died in the cage.

A nice interlude on an a very long flight. During the day it is hot, but the butterflys are out and beautiful. During the evening/night it is a lot cooler, but there are no butterflies. You can't really complain, it is something different at an airport.

We found this garden whilst waiting for a connecting flight. It was a lovely place to relax and enjoy the beautiful, multi-coloured butterflies. There were not vetry many other people there so we were able to just stand and watch.

Good idea in principle, but I didn't want to risk life and limb by attempting to carry my wheeled hand luggage up and down the stairs between the two floors. As a solo traveller I didn't have anyone to look after it, nor did I see any facilities to stash it during a visit to the garden. I only saw signs showing access via the upper floor and only after seeing reviews here today did I realise there was access to the larger lower floor. Shame, as although there were lots of butterflies flying about during my brief visit, I felt there was a lot more to see on the lower floor.

It is amazing to see all the butterflies and the cocoons in the lush small garden. It is a wonderful way to spend some time after passing immigration and waiting for your flight

Lush little oasis in the airport to walk around and admire lots of butterfly varieties, fairly small but not too crowded. Information on the butterflies and life cycle outside
