Firstly and most importantly, my 9yr-old and 10yr-old friend absolutely loved the Mystical Beasts escape room. We needed help x3 to complete our escape but it made the experience for the girls no less awesome. Staff service at desk was neither fantastic nor horrible. Payment method was clear on website upon booking. Room was small, but big and cool enough for the four of us. Wouldn't recommend this escape room for any more though. $96 a room for the 4 of us felt on the expensive side, but we'll be back for sure.Visited October 2022Written 30 October 2022

We did murder on the Singapore Express which had a Cluedo like theme. The puzzles and the experience itself were good but the room was not well set up for asking for assistance which involved bashing on the door to get attention. - Trees GChalfont St Peter, United Kingdom29 contributionsA great escape room with plenty of varietyPlayed one of the escape rooms here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Needed a couple of hints, but there were only two of us doing it! Managed to get out with 10 minutes to spare, but it was a challenge. There was plenty of variety in the type of clues uncovered which was excellent. Would like to have done another room had we had more time before our flight. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.Hi : Since your visit Captivate got a make-over and there are 6 new rooms bringing the total to 8 Escape Rooms: Alien v Human (2019) Murder on the Singapore Express (2019) The Hitman (2020) Prestige (2020) Hansel and Gretel (May 2021) Mysterious Beasts (May 2021) Come back after COVID and have another great time at Captivate :)Written 21 March 2021This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited February 2018Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 February 2018

4 of us did Wednesday Addams and we took 90minutes to complete, guess what? The props wasn't working well hence the 90minutes even the Game master have difficulty opening one of the doors. We wasted a lot of time with all the useless clues that serve no purpose at all. It's just a small lame simple room.

I've tried many different escape rooms like Lockdown SG, Escape Artist (Habourfront), Xcape, Trapped Escape Room, and have cleared at least 10 and more of the escape rooms from these few. I've never been so disappointed the moment I stepped foot into the store. Terrible customer service and rooms so very under-decorated.
It was $28 per person for Labyrinth: Dead Man Walking (something about Changi Prison) - pretty pricy but I don't mind since you are paying for the service and the experience, and I guess you could say they failed in both aspects. They only accepted CASH, NETS or AMEX - like wow, so backward, why no visa or master? Who even carries that much cash, lol.
Went inside the room and you are greeted by a large window with office blinds, furnitures were all so out of theme, they were literally chinese medicine cabinets and a bookshelf that is labelled - DO NOT TOUCH THE BOOKS. How are these anyway related to a prison??? But ok kudos to having an electrocution chair and metal gate.
Had to use a doorbell to call for staff to give clue, I used it once and the staff came in MASKLESS drinking his water and then just gave us the answer. Like did we ask for the solution... come on we paid a good amount to play, at least care a little bit. We escape and the staff did not even talk to us or anything just stared at us and proceeded to use their phone.... terrible customer service and a poor attitude.
My first and last visit here, I would not suggest coming here for your first escape room experience... there's plenty of better options out there.

Want to point out that the last few reviews were consistently bad.
So, something IS going on here...
Feedback here is poor attitude and service/communication skills.
We were 10 minutes late for the slot. Took a wrong turn.
Apologised, and said the to staff, will take responsibility and will still pay and leave on time.
From arrival, counter staff were rude and curt, almost monosyllabic.
"Put bag here"
"Come here"
Breaking point was:
When asked about location of toilets, first vaguely was told "go outside".
When asked again, pointing gesticulations and a demeaning look of incredulousness and disdain given.
It was unnecessary bad behaviour.
As parents, most of us would teach our kids not to communicate that way to anyone.
To the company's credit, when we gave feedback on the spot, and said we wanted to leave, and requested a refund, they gave our money back.
It was our first escape room experience though, and we all left with a bad memory.
Cant comment on the rooms as we never got there.
I think work on communication/service: we all have bad days, but don't spread the bad day to someone else.

Completely jbaited. It was $56 for two people. My mother and I went there. The murder on Singapore Express. When we came into the room, instant disappointment hit us. The picture described the place as old time, like when charcoal trains were used. But got some dumb room with mrt lines scattered everywhere and red hairings came left and right. It was our 2nd room and let me tell you, it was HOT the entire time, my mother and I were sweating profusely. Clues are also hard to piece together and that’s not a good thing, it makes you go “well how was I supposed to know?”, also the Staff were very loud outside, so much so that we could hear what they were talking about. Other than that, it was meh. There was only one room, and it was black and small, with lights flickering. There was no atmospheric tension and it was just white noise form something. Everything was very poorly put together with not much to remember. It was not uniqe. Compared to the one I went to, ANNABELLE in XSCAPE room. It was 32 for one person, it was spacious, actually cold, quite nicely put together, and had 3 spacious rooms. Maybe choose another place if you want to have a good first time experience.

We did the Aliens vs Human room, there were only 2 rooms, we were expecting more rooms. Hence when it was over, we were surprised, we completed it before the time.

terrible customer service. staff were rude and demeaning right from the beginning. such people shouldnt work in customer service.
the walkie talkie didnt work, and when staff finally came in, she accused us of using it wrongly when we clearly followed instructions.
the puzzles didnt work even when we got the correct answer. when staff found out the puzzle wasnt working, gave excuses rather than apologize or attempting to fix it.
when we requested for clues, staff came in sounding exasperated. and gave us the answer instead.
ive been to many escape rooms, this has got to be the worst both in terms of customer service and the actual rooms. it was supposed to be a fun time but we left feeling upset. please dont waste your time and money here.

Unfriendly welcome from the receptionist! Lady did not appear want our custom. Felt like a naughty child when asked for help for some of the poorly designed puzzles.
Bring your own torch as it is too dark to access some of the clues/locks. Plus make sure you know how to work obscure padlocks. Luckily many alternative escape rooms in singapore

We did the Labyrinth.
Really disappointing.
The experience was not immersive at all. The setup of the room is cheap and it's badly decorated. Total lack of atmosphere here.
Don't expect a storyline as it is just random puzzles.
The staff does not look motivated. When you ask for a hint, they will just give you the solution without trying to make you find it.
It was our first escape room in Singapore but I am sure (at least I hope) there are better options.

I just tried calling the number provided on the website, as I am thinking of hosting a party there for a group of teens. had the misfortune of having my call picked up by someone who only gave her name as 'G' - and received the most unprofessional service from her. She kept fobbing me off to the website, without even giving me a chance to ask my questions. When I told her off, she gave a HUGE sign and then proceeded to ask how she could be of service. Needless to say, damage done. Since she refused to pass the call to someone else to attend to me, I decided to end the call.

Hi Andy - yes, thank you for returning my call.
As you would be able to deduce, I know my way round the web since I managed to get your number off it as well. The questions I had went beyond the information provided on the website, and I appreciate you being accommodative.
The party will be on, but if it's you who has to salvage every lost opportunity, then you have some hard thinking to do where your business is concerned.
Meanwhile, I am in the midst of finalising details. Will be in touch as soon as they are confirmed. Remember, it is teenagers that I am dealing with for the event. :)
Which attractions are scary and which arent? Which are suitable for children?
Andy W
Singapore19 contributions
Hi: There are 5 amazing rooms at Captivate. In terms of those suitable for children, there are no jump scares in any of the existing rooms.
Most children's parties are held in FBI: Zero Hour - the final room is physically a little dark - but not scary
Black Out (Amnesia) is not scary
Labyrinth: Dead Men Walking is a little scary as it has a morgue.
Elixir - starts in the semi-dark but is not scary
Kellar's Magic Emporium - the story is dark, and the final room seems to scare some kids.
The new room: Cirque is seriously scary but it hasn't opened yet as all the workmen died of fright!
Have Fun,
I hope this helps.

Hi is this a private room? And what would you recommend if we do not like horror? Thx
Andy W
Singapore19 contributions
Hi ... There are 5 amazing escape rooms to chose from and for each room you get the place to yourself and your group.
Kellar's Magic Emporium - given a the only perfect 10 rating for Escape Rooms in Australia. This room is great for people who are new to escape rooms and those who want to have a fun time. There is an amazing puzzle in the middle.
Black Out - Amnesia - the puzzles are integrated tightly to the theme and the room has a fun ending.
FBI: Zero Hour - Amazing hidden room and the perfect room for parties.
Elixir - a slightly harder room with clever puzzles
Labyrinth: Dead Men Walking - fun overhead maze and mirror maze. the most devious room - the most challenging room
None of the rooms are horror, but Labyrinth has a morgue.

What is the minimum participants per play?
Is the payment per room or per person playing? I mean if there are 6 or 2 participants, how does it cost? Is it same or it would be triple times higher?
