Singapore Duck Tour

61 reviews
Explore Singapore on a 1-hour duck tour, known officially as DUCKtours®, which allows you to see city sights by both land and water. On ‘the duck,’ an amphibious military vehicle that was refurbished from World War II, you’ll drive around the city to check out attractions like the Fountain of Wealth and Singapore Flyer. Then hit the water to cruise past landmarks like the Merlion, Singapore’s famous statue that sits where the Singapore River meets Marina Bay. Audio commentary is included.

This was close to where I was staying and I was looking for some trinkets for my family and this place really didn't have anything worth spending money on.

I came here on few occasions to attend workshops at the Singapore Human Resource Institute located at the 6th floor. But it is only today that I went around exploring the businesses at the various floors. There is the Sheng Siong supermarket located right at the basement. The opening hours are from 7 am to 10 pm. This is one of the bigger Sheng Siong supermarkets with rows of well stacked stocks and grocery items on neat shelves. I saw automatic self check-out machines besides the escalator. Automation has revolutionised the cashier's function cutting the reliance on manual tasking. The supermarket appears to be the most modern shop at this mall. At the 4th floor, there are a number of shops selling artificial decorative flowers. As lunar new year is around the corner, the shops looked colorful with stalks of multicolor flowers. But the price looks exorbitant wonder if there are customers who come all the way here to buy. It should be quite competitive with so many shops selling the same product. I saw an educational institute at the 3rd floor and made some enquiries on a advanced certificate course on work place safety. Surprisingly, their lessons are conducted during Sunday and public holidays and this suit my schedule and the institute does not charge any admin fees if I would to reschedule to another date. I have been trying to find such schedule to suit my work schedule and I found it here. Marvellous! There are also the old Chang Kee and Jollibean eatery shops at the ground floor. Novena furniture also has a showroom at the 2nd floor and I found their sofa display set reasonably priced. The rest are some travel agencies that sold air tickets, maid agencies, etc. Overall, I still find the SHRI at the 6th floor most attractive. The institute conducted a wide range of workshops and courses for civil servants. I am one of them. When I think of SHRI, I think of Verge.
