About
The Gem Museum is the first and foremost comprehensive gems and minerals museum in Singapore, open to the public. It is founded and set up in 2015 by Ms. Loke Huiying and co-founded by the director of Far East Gems and Jewellery, Mr. Tay Kunming. Ms. Loke is a certified trainer in gemmology and she has been training jewellery professionals and business owners since 2009. While Mr. Tay is a certified gemmologist, diamond trader and gem dealer. A husband and wife team, Kunming and Huiying work closely together to build a dream - a dream to spread their passion and knowledge on gemstones to many through building a company with global standards and creative platforms. The Gem Museum features a wide variety of gemstones and minerals from all corners of the world, educating visitors on the Mine to Market pipeline with regards to Value, Quality and Authenticity. It envisions being the international platform that bridge between the gemstone industry and the rest of the world.

The staff was very friendly and informative as he guided my friends and I around the museum. It is small but not lacking in amazement and well thought through displays at all. My friends and I have learnt a lot through this fun and enriching experience and had the most pleasant time at the gem museum. We recommend all to go and admire the beautiful work of these gemologists!

This museum is part museum and part gem shop. The museum isn't that big, but covers the whole life cycle of gem formation through mining, cutting and polishing, and finally sale. The curator of the museum also does a guided tour and it's great at answering questions about gems, being a qualified gemologist, demonstrates commendable knowledge. There’s also some awesome gems on display or to buy in their gem shop upstairs. I also really enjoyed using a microscope to look up close at some of the gems which the curator was kind enough to demonstrate to me.

Well for a free attraction you can't really complain. The staff were friendly, well informed and helpful.
Although small, the Gem Museum has some lovely pieces to see. A short stop, but it was a nice experience chatting to the staff.
If you are looking for some gem pieces and want personalized jewellery made, they have a small shop on the upper floor.
It's a shame I missed out on their short day course to learn more, but if I'm in Singapore again I will definitely book myself on it.

I stopped by the Gem Museum on my first visit to Singapore, and now it is my recommendation to everyone who goes there! Kunming is very knowledgeable about gemology and has a passion that spreads quickly when he teaches you about gems. There are some cut gemstones for sale that are very reasonably priced, and the displays are informative and well-made.

I recently started an interest for gemstones an minerals, and at first I thought this would remain as a hobby. But when I discovered The Gem Museum, I learnt a lot about gemstones and that I can make this hobby a dream. Even though it is a small display, I learned a lot from the staff and they were very nice. They also have a retail shop that has gemstones and jewellery for sale.

This place was a very educational and interesting museum. It featured a wide variety of rare gemstones. The jewelry, sapphire stones and diamonds on sale were reasonably priced and some were very exotic. The owner was enthusiastic in educating customers about the stones and gave many ideas for gifts that I was there to look for. This is indeed a hidden gem of a museum.

Stumbled upon this place randomly while having lunch in the area. Staff is super knowledgeable and friendly, and you learn a ton about rocks, gems, and geology. You can buy some items if you want but the guided tour is free of charge. It’s easy to tell that the people who work there are very passionate. Would recommend!

Staff were so welcoming and informative! Great selection of gems to learn about and see. Great selection for purchase also with reasonable prices. My 8 year old Gem enthusiast really loved it and can't wait to return :)

Hi Ted M, we are about 10min walk from Bugis MRT, it's nearby the Sultan Mosque.
We just moved into this new location so our exhibits are in the process of setting up.
It would be ready by June 2019, meanwhile if you would like to visit us if you are in the area, you are welcomed!
