Maybe a great idea to get there early for a ticket as the queues were long and busy. The boat leaves at different times but we took the 10 am one. (That returned at 5 pm). Tickets... read more

The first part of this trip from Puerto Varas to the remote community of Peulla is truly stunning and well organised. The hotel in Peulla is huge and yet we were the only four people staying there overnight. While in Peula we walked along a beautiful track to a small waterfall. The next morning the four of us travelled into... More

Maybe a great idea to get there early for a ticket as the queues were long and busy. The boat leaves at different times but we took the 10 am one. (That returned at 5 pm). Tickets are 800 Pesos and one pays for accessing the national park as well. The catamaran is huge and very comfortable. The staff were... More

Who would imagine that spending 12 hours to go 110 miles could be a memorable journey, but that's what this bus/boat crossing of the Andes in Patagonia was for us. It was a long day, including 4 bus segments, 3 boat segments, a border crossing, a lunch stop, and several opportunities to set foot in this magnificent landscape. Our tour... More

We made this trip on Christmas Eve, ARG->CHL, and it was a calm and relaxing journey, although quite expensive. Both the boats on the ARG side were new. We had a smallish group of about 35, and the border crossing waits totalled 30 mins., possibly faster than most if the other reviews are typical. Our hotel organised a taxi to... More

We crossed by lake and bus from Bariloche to Puerto Varas and would not do this again. There are more efficient ways to get across to Chile. The catamarans were large and modern and views were great but the two border crossings were hot, dusty and took hours. After an 8.30am start we didn't reach our lunch destination until 4pm... More

Taking an excursion from Bariloche to Puertto Varas on the lakes is a great way to cross the Andes. The hills are not as high here as further North but the scenery is really pretty from the boat (especially on a sunny day), we saw a few volcanos, the seagull feeding is fun and (after having passed through the frustrating... I booked this and confirmed the starting location -830am at their office in Bariloche since our hotel wasn't on their list of pickups. We get there at 829 and they tell us the bus left 10 minutes ago. No apologies from them, just them telling me to RUN to get the bus at a hotel a few blocks away. So... More

We traveled from Puerto Varas to Bariloche, we spent one night in Peulla. The whole trip was beautiful, the weather was gorgeous. The crew was excellent, our Chilean guide, Fernando Guerrero was the best, he explained every detail of the tour, answered our questions and assisted us with everything, even with the border paperwork. The Argentinean crew was good too,... More

This was an extremely long day involving boats and buses , 7 changes in total . The morning was glorious but cool and windy when outside on boat deck but the scenery was beautiful. The arvo became cold and wet and by then we were getting tired. Got to our hotel about 8pm . worth the trip but try and... More

Our second trip across the Andes, nine years after the first. This time from Puerto Varas in Chile to Bariloche in Argentina. This is a bus and boat multiple trip. Across various lakes with a stop for lunch in Peulla. Scenery is epic and raw and real. And the organisation is faultless. Getting up to 300 passengers across the Andes... More
