Maybe thousands? Too many to count. Patrick Watts had four other drivers and great, comfortable vehicles. We rode in a Toyota Land Cruiser with leather seats. It's an 11 mile trip over the bog to get from the farm to the beach at Volunteer Point. It is not so bumpy as it is a jostling ride. Derek was a wonderful... More

This is a simply must do trip but you you need to be hardy & tough as bumping around going cross country can be uncomfortable to say the least as you go across bog and moor for over 45 minutes. However, see these amazing penguins is well worth the effort. I just hope they never give in to even a... More

Booked with Estancia Excursions and Nyree took care of everything. Our driver. Tamara was excellent. Provided all kinds of local information while on the long, bumpy but thoroughly enjoyable 4-wheel drive. Once at Volunteer Point, the flock of King penguins and being able to walk around with them was impressive. Also saw Gentoo and Magellanic penguins. All day trip but... More

Visiting Volunteer Point to see King Penguins was a "must do", for me, if we could dock at the Falkland Islands, on our recent South America Antarctica cruise. Jimmy Curtis exceeded expectations. While we were delighted to see the King, Gentoo and Magellan penguins, and the beautiful sand beach at Volunteer Point, we were equally impressed by Jimmy. He ensured... More

Petra drove us to Volunteer Point - bumpy, awesome ride! Time spent with the penguins was incredible. Grandkids were fascinated by the noises and behaviors they observed while strolling alongside these amazing birds. Sack lunch provided, and a tour of Stanley before returning to the cruise ship. Petra pointed out the shoe shrine along the highway. Custom is to leave... More

We really enjoyed the Jimmy Curtis tour of Volunteer Point. It is an all day excursion to head out to Volunteer Point but the scenery of King Penguins on the beach is worth it and really fun. My two year old daughter loved it. Our driver Sue was not only a great driver but her family has lived in the... More

Our excursion to Volunteer Point was the highlight of our trip to South America. The ride was an adventure of it's own. Be prepared to be bounced around but the destination is worth it. It was amazing to be able to walk around and watch the antics of the King, Magellanic and Gentoo penguins. Absolutely recommend a trip out the... More

We did a cruise around the coast of South America from Santiago ending in Buenos Aires and in terms of places visited this was the highlight. It was a super experience travelling across country in the 4 wheeled drive and the penguin colony is stunning. Afterwards we had a short tour of Stanley....it is not a big town so my... More

We took a jeep tour to Volunteer Point. As everyone has mentioned, the jeep ride is about an hour and a half one way. I was in awe of our driver Chloe. She knew the terrain well and drove the jeep like the pro that she is! After a harrowing ride we were treated to what seemed to be miles... More

As a group of six adults, we booked Patrick Watts for the Stanley /Gypsy Cover. Our total costs was UD$90.00. If we had booked the ship's tour, the cost would have been $99 per person for Gypsy Cover and $45 for Stanley...$144 per person, or a total of $864......that's quite a difference. And, we weren't crowed on a tour bus.... More
