Christ Church Cathedral is the southernmost Anglican cathedral in the World. It is not a large building as Cathedrals go but acts as the parish church of not only the Falkland Islands but also South Georgia and the British Antarctic Territories. Consecrated in February 1892,...More

Situated in the short main street in Stanley is the Christ Church Cathedral. This church was established in the 18th century and is the southernmost Anglican cathedral in the world. The whale bone arch is in the park beside.

Lovely church inside and out. It’s a historic building. There is little see in Stanley but this is one of the main sites and worth a visit. It’s a short walk from the pier.

The cathedral is like a very neat small English church. Plaques etc are interesting and everything is well maintained.

Small cathedral. Quite basic in decoration. No one present when I was there. Very British experience

A rather nice church building at Port Stanley with beautiful stained glass windows behind the altar. Simplistic architecture but fits well with this small town. The photogenic whale bones arch is right outside the Church.

Of historical interest and of course the stained glass window that includes a famous nurse and her bicycle. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to drop in to visit such a unique building in such a unique place

This church is easily accessible a short distance from the pier. It is all the more amazing when you take into consideration the distance that the materials used in its construction had to travel. Definitely worth checking out, even if churches aren’t your thing, it’s...More

We were welcomed with a lovely smile and invited to come in and take photos if we wished. I sat and enjoyed the whole scene of the light filtering through the glorious stained glass windows on to the very old, polished wooden pews, charming altar...More

Most of the attractions in Stanley can be seen on foot and are mostly along the water front. Best place for coffee and cakes is the Waterfront Hotel, never eaten there but the food looked great. Word of advise Take... More

Yes there are ringeable bells in the tower. One chimes the hours on the clock and there is one that is rung as a come to church chime. All six can be rung from the ringing room. By the way, BBC2 has a program on Fridays at... More
