La Montana · natural vineyard, brewery and local tourism · 60 km from Santiago

La Montana invites visitors to spend a day in this cool corner at the piedemont of Maipo, to feel the humidity of the wildlife, hike into the forest and fly on canopy over its thick native layer. There will be a barbecue lunch on the side of a river, accompanied with wine of four varieties that grow between boldo and peumo trees, created exclusively for the visitor and elaborated with a co fermentation method used in the ancient Mediterranean regions. Later you will take shelter in a rock near the fire to drink tea or tour its olive, lavender and almond trees. The experimental plant of the brewery can be visited, to learn from the process and the onsite extraction of essential oils of lavender, eucalyptus and native species.

Diego, our wonderful and informative guide, picked us up on time from our hotel. Our first stop was at the Perez Cruz winery where Maria walked us through the wine making process. She answered all of our questions and really explained why Chilean wines taste the way they do. After a very good tasting we headed to La Montana where... More

My husband and I took this winery tour during our stay in Santiago and we absolutely loved it! Juan and Alex, our guides were really friendly and welcoming and made the day really fun and personal - especially as on the day we took the tour we were the only ones so it was like a private tour just the... My wife and I visited La Montana Winery in early June 2011 to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. I was looking for a fun activity that would get us out of the bustling metropolis that is Santiago, and into nature. The winery appealed to me because it sits on about 5,000 acres (only 8 of which are used for grapes)... More

Very nice estate. Great trek through the forest area. Even though you are far up in the country everything is very clean. Zip lining was a great experience. Lots of fun and excitement. The barbecue was fantastic in the middle of the forest. One of the best pieces of steak I have had. The wine they produce is excellent and... More
