By far, one of my favorite neighborhoods in the frenetic city. Tuck away into a pedestrian-zone cafe with a glass of Carmenere and people watch.

The architecture in this area is wonderful and there is a really good mix of restaurants and bars. You can easily spend a pleasant half day exploring the area and there is something for everywhere.

Great area with shops, restaurants, a great ice cream place. Just a few minutes walk from Fine Arts Museum. Walk up and through park and Castle Hidalgo for amazing views of the city. It attracts locals and tourists and is beautiful.

We have a 7 hour layover in Santiago and are looking for some ideas to pass the time. Would a visit to Barrio Lastarria be a good option to spend a couple of hours, get something to eat, etc? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Hello! It would be a good choice, but I'd would also recommend to you to visit the Bellavista neighbourhood. They have a lot of places to eat there, ant shops and Pablo Neruda's home, which is worth a visit. :-) Also in... More
