We were driving from Santiago to Valparaiso for a day trip and our guide brought us here first, so that we could see the lovely houses and view over the harbour to the World UNESCO Heritage site. It was a great place to get into the Pacific and see the view. I recommend it.

Parking our rental car on a nearby city street (you pay later) we walked through the full parking lot, the lovely pine forest (big fallen cones to take home), carrying our picnic cooler (ignoring the "no picnic signs" as surely they mean no barbecues?) we found a few square metres for our beach umbrella and towels at the extreme south... We were riding in a UBER Mecedes 500SL and did the whole coast line turning inland where the cracking plant is and continuing on to the highway to Santiago stopping in the wine country and enjoying some great wines. The drive along the coast was beautiful.

When you approach the beach you can inmediately tell it's a unique place in the 5° region. To get to the beach, you have to cross through a beautiful forest that welcomes you with a moment of peace. The forest isn't so large but it's enough for what it is, a nice, calm place for walking and even some other... More

I just spent four days in Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. This beach is by far the best beach I've seen on the Valparaiso Vina del Mar coast. On a mid December afternoon the beach is not packed with people, but there are families, and there's a fantastic couple of places to get some very tasty empanadas. Leading up to... More

The beach is amazing, but very tiny so this is difficult to take a rest. The main option to park is right in the entrance of the path that takes to the beach, it costs 600 CLP for each 30minutes.

This is the nicest beach in the area if you come with young children. The have a small shop where you can buy drinks and snacks.

Great swimming if you can stand the initial shock of the cold water and are careful about not hitting any hidden rocks when you run in (big waves) - tons of fun though, especially the banana boat ride and lots of vendors that are not pushy and have delicious food to sell. Not a lot of restaurants, but tons of... More
